I reserved my Rivian on Nov 28th, 2018. So, really early on. I chose a Red with white (Ocean Coast) interior and the 20" off road tires. Soon found out, after a long, long while, that my truck was being delayed due to the white interior. Not willing to wait, I finally asked to get the first truck available and gave some color choices. They called me saying they had a Compass Yellow with the black (Mountain) interior with 21" road wheels. Having waited 3.5 years, I grabbed it.

Turns out everybody loves the color, even my wife, and 15,000 happy miles later I am in heaven.

I am a wheels and tires guy. I have always changed the tires and rims on every car I've owned.

When I heard it had the 21' Pirelli tires on it, I immediately started looking for wheels and tires. Couldn't find the right bolt spacing, finally finding a Dodge Ram with the same bolt spacing, weird. Now a days there seems several rims available for the Rivian. Same Dodge Ram bolt spacing.

After 15,000 miles, I must say I am very happy with the performance of these tires. I have plenty of tread left and can see 30,000 miles easily. That said, I only drive in sport mode with the lowest setting and am happy with the comfort. These tires help absorb the bumps and ruts, where others may not.

I may still get me a custom set, I'll keep you posted.

21" Pirellis have a wonderful ride.

I love the ride of these tires as well! I am back and forth on the look of the wheels which I’ve blacked out with vinyl and I hate the price of the tires. If you get 30k that’s pretty great! I’m doing well on my tread depth at 10k miles as well.

My tread depth sucks at 14K. I have about 5/32nds left. I'll be lucky to get 20K miles out of these tires. I do drive my truck like I stole it though.

Do you also have the 21" Pirellis?

What tire pressure are you maintaining?

The 21s are great. I truly like how they ride, and their performance has been solid in multiple conditions (including mild off-road, packed snow, and slush).

I’ve pieced together a set of 20“ Darks and will give them a whirl with the OE tires for a back-to-back, will report on results.

Following. Have 21s. Only experience with the 20s was on a short demo drive on the R1S.

Last tread check had me at like 8-9/32 after 7500 miles

I did the swap yesterday from 21 to 20, both OE tires.

So far, the OE 20” AT are:
1) a teeny bit louder
2) much more compliant over really harsh pavement
3) slightly buzzier on smooth pavement

If you’re not going to see off-road, the stock 21” tires (and I presume the same tire in a 20”, if available) is fantastic.

I’ll be paying attention to efficiency, but it’s not a deal breaker, as I intend on going to BFG KO3 after these wear out anyway.
