I’ve had the R1S now for 3 days. I’ve been able to put on 340 miles so far and love it! Yesterday I did 20% ceramic tint all around. I’ll post better pics later, for now I’ll just put the one from last night in the garage. As a quick reminder for all.. I do own 2 Teslas currently still a Model S pre-refresh and a Model X that’s refreshed.

1. The App isn’t intuitive - or rather - it expects you know what to click on or pull down on to find features. An easy example is charging.. didn’t know until yesterday that you could pull down and tap different points to start charging or get into the session. This should be more obvious.

2. I have my charging set to 75% daily but after vampiric drain occurs and the vehicle naturally loses a % point the vehicle will start to charge again to bring it back to 75% when the time schedule you have set is still within the correct parameters (I have it 9:30pm to 9am). In the Tesla you have the charge session complete and it won’t recharge the battery until the following days cycle or you manually request it.

3. The garage door function which I realize is brand new - is not working well. Basically every time I press the button it doesn’t work. Randomly it will work, I have no idea what’s going on with it. Because of that tho I’m leaving my actual opener in the car.

4. My phones Bluetooth keeps connecting to either the Rivian or the Campspeaker when I’m working in my office. I made it disconnect from the speaker but do I need to have my phone forget the speaker entirely? I can’t listen to my AirPods for longer than 30-60 seconds without it cutting out. I’m on iPhone 14 Pro Max.

5. A software issue - but a couple times I’ve had to leave the screen because the keyboard would not come up on navigation so I’d go to another screen with a keyboard and come back and it would work. First time tho was a little jarring as I didn’t connect Alexa and since you can’t speak to the Rivian any other way - you are kind of stuck without the keyboard.

6. I’m curious about vehicle power under 80%. So far I have not charged above 75% but the 3 times I’ve floored it I haven’t been particularly impressed. It’s quick for sure, but doesn’t feel 3.3 seconds quick. I have the 21” road tires. I’m wondering if I should charge to 90% tomorrow and see if it makes a difference in power output and available HP?

7. Carwash mode I think should ding or beep at you if you exit without remembering to turn it off. I was holding a bunch of stuff and forgot to turn it off and upon coming back to the vehicle and realizing it wasn’t opening for me the door is extremely difficult to get open you really have to give it the business on the handle.

8. I’m sure this has been discussed but a separate option for “climate keep” other than pet mode would be ideal. When I go to park I would like an easy prompt if there are other passengers I.e. my wife to where I can keep the climate on without calling her a good girl when I exit.

9. Passenger window lock should not lock the passenger driver side but just the rear. Or at least a separate option for just the rear.

10. Another one I’m sure has been discussed but I thought that the interior lighting was multicolored so is there not a way to change it? Not yet?

11. Is there an option to always have the 3rd row climate on? This will be the primary family cruiser and since we will have one of our boys in the back it would be nice to save a step to always have the 3rd row come on with the first two rows when climate is turned on.

12. There needs to be another profile for multiple Spotify users. This seems like a silly oversight.

13. Driver+ works flawless! Love it. That said and some obvious ones that I’m sure others have pointed out. We need lane centering on unmapped highways eventually. The Raptor/Teslas/Subaru we have all work great here. With the cameras in the Rivian this should seem pretty simple I would think. Perhaps not. I’d also like it to be easier to switch lanes on the freeway and have the system reset itself without me needing to re-engage.

14. Would like the rear screen to be updated for more functionality in the future.

15. The turn signal stock is a failed design that every manufacturer tries and eventually reverts back from. Not sure why they decided to have it stay in a fixed position.

16. The backup and front facing camera are just not acceptable. Hopefully Rivian allows a future camera retrofit for updated clarity.

Well I’m sure there may be more. This is just me easy 16 quick hitters I didn’t need to think hard about. Tint is on.. ppf and ceramic coating coming in September. I need to get a set of 20” wheels and tires. Overall, absolutely thrilled with the car and I love the interior color - hyper glad I waited for the OC.. worth it all day to me alone.

I have this same issue. At first I thought it was because I wasn't turning the speaker completely off before docking. But that did not resolve anything. The only solution I have had is to "forget" the device in my phone settings. I have a service ticket for my appointment in September, as I can't imagine this is the intended function. I would think the speaker would automatically turn off or be suspended when docked in the vehicle.

Congrats on the R1S!! Looking good....

The battery voltage between 75% and 90% might not make much of a difference on launch times vs the time difference between battery levels at 20% and 90%.?

Best launches are in Sport mode, and standing on the brake and accelerator at the same time.. then release the brake. It's the Rivian equivalent to "launch mode" in ICE supercars.

Long list my friend.

The garage door thing is brand new but I have found it is more a double click than a single. With that it works everytime without fault.

CarWash mode and door handles: I get it but if you just push on the front side of the handle it easily pops out and can be opened.

I don't use the schedule for charging but if I charge overnight I want it to be 85% when I get back, period so whatever it takes. Isn't really a challenge I can think of there as it would be less than 1% gained if left that way. I haven't timed it but performance in the R1S is amazing at any charge rate above 35%. Have noticed a change when below 80% or something like that.

Bluetooth the camp speaker is irritating as hell. I don't pair with it period just causes too many problems. The phone itself has never been a problem and my office is on the other side of the garage wall.

Interior light changes right now are tied to the 'Themes' like Halloween which is for October.

Good luck and definitely requires some patience right now as things are moving quickly
