Ok so I am confused...why does everyone want a fridge? Does a good ole cooler not work? I have camped most all my life and nothing but a cooler has been needed.
I, too, used a cooler for many years. If you ever try a fridge, you probably won’t be too anxious to go back to that cooler. Mainly, you can forget about all that melting ice, that you have to replenish - and it’s often not cheap or convenient to find. For a given size, you will get at least twice the usable volume, as there is no ice/water hogging the space. No need to worry about food getting wet. Easy to control temperature - set and forget. Much easier to pack and organize your items in a fridge. I find I take along a lot more real food, versus freeze dried and junk. I simply eat a lot better on the trail. Mine lives in my vehicle and gets used all the time - for long, remote camping trips, day trips, Costco runs, whatever. Honestly, my fridge is one of the best investments I have ever made.

Maybe it is me but....you bought a pickup truck. What other pickup truck can accommodate a fridge? :p

Seems like most of the big overlanding rigs have the entire bed used, at which point you can fit any fridge in there. Or maybe should have waited for the R1S?
Lightning, Silverado, Hummer EV … and the R1T until the last minute shrinkage of the frunk

No need for ice + more food capacity = more freedom for adventuring

Dometic makes a fridge that fits in the console of the F-150.

The frunk isn't vented. A refrigerator/freezer is a heat exchanger.

You know, if you had shelf stable food only, you wouldn't need a fridge.

Going ultra-lite for bikepacking and doing no-heat foods like overnight oats with shelf stable milk, pre cooked noodles to soak, and couscous has changed my ways of camping ?

I love ultralight backpacking and I love car camping/overlanding and there's a reason I have a very different kit of parts for both

I'm not taking a $75k electric truck with a built in induction stove camping just to drink warm beer and eat cold slurry out of a bag. I have that kit already; it lives in my backpack or on my motorcycle.

Just get your saws out and make the fridge fit! This is a cheap cooler I’ve had for 10 years, but to get another 2 years out of it I made it fit the space I had available. Now I have an inch to spare!

I’d like to upgrade to a fridge when we get the Rivian, so this helped me avoid buying something that wouldn’t fit and I’d have to sell.
