My truck is nearing the end of warranty period and had to be towed to Seattle this week because it couldn't recognize any keys. My plan was to keep my launch edition vehicle indefinitely and my wife was planning for an R2... but with this most recent incident, it makes me wonder if I really should keep a Rivian past it's warranty period--especially when the closest service is 300 miles away.

I've had a few issues in the past, but none of them too severe. This was the only time my vehicle has been towed. I really love my truck and want to keep it, but a closer service center or other options for future repair almost seem critical at this point. Thoughts?

I’m watching this thread to see if there’s any news. Because, I’m in the same boat as you in terms of owning, but not at the end of the warranty period yet. I’ve been mentioning this every time I have a chance to tell someone that it would make sense to have an SC in this area, to cover a 200-300 mile radius. I’ve seen a lot more Rivian’s in the Spokane/CDA area running around since my ownership.

Same here. There is a job posting on Rivian Careers for a Field Service Technician, Northwest - For Future Consideration. Maybe this is for Spokane/CDA.

  • Travel to locations to support as required until the local Service Center opens, including but not limited to, production plant "
