I just got the "Your Rivian is ready for delivery" email. But when I tried to schedule delivery by a Field Specialist, the page said there were none currently available.

The other option is to have it delivered by a flatbed with no walk-through. Does anyone have input about either experience? Is the Field Specialist delivery worth it? Should I reach out to my guide? Should I just take the flatbed delivery?

I was really looking forward to the full experience of the delivery. Someone just unloading my brand new R1S and leaving seems like a bit of a let down.

My neighbor who was late to the Rivian bandwagon picked up an R1T from the store way ahead of his anticipated delivery date and got a full home delivery experience. When we got our R1S a few weeks later it was an email pretty much stating "come and pick it up." We had a very nice walk-through with the rep but not the experience we had hoped for. But we still got our car a month or so before we expected it.

If you frequent these boards, I can't imagine what you'd really get from a specialist's presence. I get why you'd want it - I'd rather have it too - but you know enough to take delivery without handholding. Checklists abound.

@ranieri Congrats on having your vehicle ready.

Sorry off topic question, had you already completed step 7 (payment) before getting this email? My truck has supposedly been at the service center for a couple of weeks. Guide told me I'm fine making payment after it passes local checks but I'm starting to wonder if it is sitting there collecting dust because I have not paid yet.

I didn't wire my funds until the day before it was scheduled for delivery.

I have not made final payment yet. Waiting to schedule my delivery before paying. I think my time between arrival at the service center and delivery notification was about a week. Does your guide have any info about why it is taking so long? Maybe nudge him to call the service center directly to get more info.

I emailed my guide last night for help scheduling delivery. Hopefully he can get me in there s00n. But now I'm thinking about driving the hour and 45 minutes to the Chelsea MA service center to pick it up.

Thanks for the responses! I"ve been impatiently-patiently waiting but I'll probably send my guide an email this weekend with a slight nudge.

Similar to @MIG my delivery option was "come pick it up"....no option or help from guide to get an at-home delivery / experience (end of quarter push). I did get the walk thru, etc. but as @paariv said if you've been on here long enough you don't really need it. Frankly, I knew more about the vehicle, features, settings than the walk thru person. Their big help, of course, is activating the ownership and inital app/driver setup...like Disney, that's when the magic begins! 🎆

PS - Be sure to check your underbody panels are installed ;)

A couple of weeks does not give me hope I'll see mine anytime soon. It was in Richmond last Wednesday.

I did a drive-by at the Richmond SC yesterday.... that place is hopping. More vehicles than I've ever seen there. Granted I have not been past it in a couple of months. They had vehicles parked outside the gate. I usually have to do my drooling through the fence.

I believe it. When I had access to the shop there must have been 50+ vehicles available.

They seem to be opening 8-step when the VIN is nearing end of production, not including QC/reworks/fixes. I'm currently awaiting Delivery date, but to be fair I'm still on track for my delivery window.
I sure hope they drop it off at my home. I don't want to drive to SF...

P-man - can you throw me a link or two for a checklist? Found a few youtube videos but they are for T's. Thx.

Our Tesla Model 3, 2020, was delivered to us by just normal delivery person. We did a walk around exam and didn't note anything. We haven't had any issues with our Tesla. I was amazes by the ease of it all...
