I had a quad R1T for 25k miles and 2 1/2 years so I’ve been through most scenarios. Just parked my new R1S Tri at O’Hare yesterday while we are going away for 12 days. 64% charge, Gear Guard off nothing left in the vehicle. I just checked it for the first time and have lost 10% battery and 40 miles of range in 24 hours. Truck will be dead in 5 days! Rivian service just tried to tell me that 10% a day is totally acceptable! Their solution for me is to ask someone to drive 3 hours to the airport and charge the truck for me. Aarrgghh!!!
I'm sure someone else has already said by now, but dying 12V Battery seems like the simplest explanation.
Hope Rivian can assist you, and eventually all of us with a permanent fix!

I have a month+ old gen2 R1T and have seen some crazy drain (though I didn't really look into it). Left for a week+ trip and left the truck in our driveway at 98% with gear guard on (figured it'd totally last the week) but over the first day or so, it dropped to like 84%. By day 3 or 4 or was down to 64% so I turned off gear guard.
We're in our way home (day 9) and it's been relatively steady at 29% the last two days...

At 10% per day Rivian should be able to remotely determine what’s going on. I would insist.
This is correct. I had the same issue, and they were able to diagnose for me. Turns out I had a dog tether plugged into the passenger seatbelt, and it was keeping the truck from sleeping. They supposedly fixed that in the last update.

I’ve been logging my daily phantom drain from electraFi since late July, 2024. Version 2024.19.4 was fantastic. Except for 2024.39.1, gear guard was turned off during data collection.

Put the car in Shipping Mode when you leave the car for an extended period of time. Dramatically cuts down on drain.

I started biking to work. So I charge only every three weeks and phantom drain has been 1% on my G1 R1S with gear guard on in our condo garage. So this 10% is excessive. Have you always had this, like before leaving it at the airport, e.g. on your driveway overnight perhaps.

My r1S has been in my garage (Colorado 7,500 feet elevation) for almost two weeks. Unplugged from wall charger, shipping and service modes on, gear guard off. Lost about .8 KWH a day. My Volvo BEV parked next to it for about half the time, zero vampire drain.

Got my 2025 R1T gen 2 about one month ago and love it but been noticing some wicked phantom drain.

Just got Electrafi and here stats from last night:
3.91 kWh/ 11.91 miles loss in less than 8 hours.
This can’t be expected loss can it?

also, can someone tell me what the gap-times between “sleeps” represent on Electrafi? Does this mean truck was awake the whole time?

Something is very wrong with your vehicle. Even with the recently increased drain (likely update software bugs), you should be seeing less than ~2% loss per day (24 hours) with GG on.....make sure you don't have a seat belt buckled and are not unknowingly running HVAC....and submit a service ticket.

Rivian said for the Gen2's, there should literally be no vampire drain. So for them to say 10% a day is "normal" is absolutely ridiculous.
I left my R1T Gen1 at the airport for a week and lost around 7% in that span.
So there is definitely something wrong with your vehicle and definitely needs to be checked out.
Any car that can lose 10% a day sitting idle is grounds for a lemon.

I agree, 10% daily loss is nuts and unacceptable. I’ve been closely tracking my ‘23 R1T for the last 3 weeks, comparing daily usage data (Trip Meter A) to long term data (Trip Meter B). In this way, I can see how much vampire drain I am getting. So far, this is what I am seeing. I have gear guard off at home.

Rivian said for the Gen2's, there should literally be no vampire drain.
That was a total BS statement from someone at Rivian.
There is no way on earth a connected vehicle that constantly uploads as much data to the mother ship as the R1 vehicles do could have "virtually no vampire drain". Now, if they would just stop constantly uploading and downloading so much data 24/7 they might be able to get daily drain down to or even below 0.5kWh/day on the Gen II vehicles.

Other "connected" EV's that I currently own do actually approach zero vampire drain on a daily basis. Difference is they aren't constantly uploading and downloading data to and from the mother ship 24/7.
