Use your left foot on the brake pedal and you can do whatever you want with your butt. Others have complained about reverse being too aggressive, and if you are lifting yourself in the air, it's logical that too much pedal application could fully plant you into the accelerator in reverse. Having your foot on the brake would give you leverage against that (as well as the truck allowing you to lift yourself off the seat without auto-park).

You could Just jump the pressure switch. I agree boat trailer / steep ramp/ off road situations there will be times you need to lift your butt to SEE. Rivian is a very GREEN truck. With lots of PLUG and Lots of room under the seat……….

seatbelt on or off.

Kin Java in the seat or not.

Looks like it’s only a reverse thing.

Here's a tip I've used when towing my boats (current is a 24 foot Yamaha's on dual trailers) over the years, without having to resort to adding additional mirrors.

As an alternative, I adjust the outside mirrors downward slightly so that I can see the trailer tires on the road behind me. When changing lanes, it does require a little bit of a head bob when checking traffic, but I prefer that over not knowing where the trailer wheels.

When backing down ramps, I also like to line the wheels up parallel to the paint markings, the dock, or some other fixed object and I can get the trailer into the lake perfectly lined up.

No butt lift needed, and this works for the 2000ish miles of towing I do per year.

Wait...if you lift your butt off the seat while driving what happens? A warning? Or does the car stop at highway speeds haha
Instant automatic brake lockup. Super beneficial when you lift your butt off the seat to turn around and straighten out the kids fighting in the back during a road trip. :CWL:

I didn't read through 3 pages of posts to see if you answered this already:

Have you contacted Rivian about this or now that you posted a problem about Rivian on an internet forum your work is done and someone else should take it from here?
