Cheap and easy rubber bed liner / mat for Rivian R1T

Apparently the R1T bed is made for the same material as synthetic ice skating rink tiles! Here is a cheap and easy solution to help keep things from sliding about with some decent rubber bed protection when you chuck things in there. Rubber, fairly think and heavy duty. Fits width-wise. Cuts to length easily.

I have that exact one and it is a game changer. No idea why Rivian doesn't capitalize on things like this. They could offer a Rivian branded bed mat and make bank on it.

I had a bed carpet in my Silverado wich was great when moving around furniture. I hope somebody eventually makes one to fit the R1T.

The plastic bed in the R1T is the most rinky-dink bed liner I've ever seen.

It'll help a little bit but probably not as much as you'd desire. It's flexible rubber. So kind of turns it from a square wave (green) to a sine wave (orange) is best way to describe i guess. ? ? ?‍

The bed mat looks nice. A less expensive alternative (probably $50) is horse stall matting. It's typically available in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" thickness. Barn supply stores typically have the less thick mats on rolls available for length custom cut to order.

I'm not sure how it would turn out but you could probably get.some 1x2s to lay in the ridges to help you vent it out. I'll have to try that out.

Hey just joined up while waiting for my reservation I just placed…. But here’s a good tip. If you live close to a sawmill or anywhere that has wide conveyor belts. Ask them if you could take an old one they’re replacing. I work at a sawmill and we just just toss em out anyway so any of them should be more then willing to give you as much as needed. Most guys with trucks in the mill have taken some for theirs.

I have the bed rug in my Ridgeline - absolutely love it. Hoping for the same that they make one for the R1T.

An even better idea. Much cheaper though Jeff Bezos won't deliver it to your door (which makes it an even better idea! ?)

Again, for any one interested. Do with these as you choose. Needed a rubber bed mat to help prevent things from sliding all over the place. Naturally, nobody makes one specifically for the Rivian yet. When they do, I'll order it. In the mean time, ordered this universal one and cut it down. Was fairly easy to cut with all-purpose type cutters. It's 4' x 8' from the seller. I cut the length down to 52 3/4" to allow space for the fold over flap that folds up when you close the tailgate. It takes up about an inch of space/length in the bed when the tailgate is closed (the one that covers the hinges to make a flat floor when the tailgate is down. I put the cut end toward the cab with the molded end toward the tailgate since that's the side that will be seen. Although, was proud of myself for completing a pretty straight cut!

At 4' wide, its the same exact width of the spare tire cover. Happy with it as a temporary solution until a specific cut one comes out. I didn't want to get into a larger one that I had to also cut the sides and fender wells out. The fender wells are so small inside the bed anyway, so there's very little plastic exposed with this one. This is a very heavy duty mat. It's not light. but, I like that for the fact that I didn't have to "mount" it. Other mats show it being necessary to screw them in. Had no desire to put holes in the bed. With weight of this thing, don't think it's going anyway. Based on a post below, apparently some come with a logo stamped into the mat. Not sure that's that big of a deal. But, it's far enough towards one end of the mat that if you don't want the logo, it can be part of the leftover piece after you trim it for the Rivian. There is 52 3/4 inches of continuous mat space that has no logo.
