calling people is so like 1991....before texting existed.
Anyone who is serious about positive outcome wouldn't be proposing to threaten class action. The only people to benefit from class action are the opportunistic lawyers facilitating them. Service capacity is direct result of size of service operation... which is a direct result of Rivian's balance sheets, and limits on what they can prioritize after the first priority: production/deliveries and still remain solvent enough to continue from quarter-to-quarter. Ignorant consumers are only looking at their immediate personal needs; being willfully blind to broader reality. Everyone having their service needs met "right f'ing now" is going to be meaningless if the company isn't around next quarter, next month, or next year to meet future needs. Ask Fisker Ocean owners about their warranty.

Fiskar (the most recent incarnation anyway) basically sold the dream then took the money and ran. Rivian is actually delivering vehicles, servicing them, and has built Service Centers. Rivian also has plans for their next-gen vehicle(s). Nothing at all alike!
And delivering Vans to multiple comercial customers...

I cost them $90k when they bought back my vehicle due to SC incompetence and making me suffer through a year of ownership. Oopsies 🤷

as for class action I just wanted the vehicle gone and that’s about the extent of the energy I will put into Rivian personally but would love to see them pay out a large sum to yall.

from my perspective at this point I’m pretty sure the entire company is designed as some kind of fraud to do the bare minimum to mooch off of whatever government credits they’re getting to and allow the Saudi investors to dump their bags, I am assuming there will be no improvements to anything and that they will continue doing PR and marketing things to build hype then eventually file for bankruptcy. I guess basically like Fiskar 2.0
You have the wrong company. Lucid has the Saudi backers not Rivian.

Once again I’m scheduling out three months for service. Is anyone aware of an existing class action lawsuit against Rivian for failure to honor warranty obligations in a timely manner? All the data is already discoverable in Rivian’s systems, it might be a slam dunk, assuming a law exists which covers these kinds of shenanigans. I am not a lawyer, though.

EDIT: the app is showing no service opponents available at all now. So I guess infinite wait times are the new thing.
Sometimes it’s not Rivian’s fault, like here in NC the Car Dealers Association blocked Rivian from building a Service Center in my state unless it was attached to a car dealership. Recently in the last 6 mo. Rivian built a Service Center in Raleigh after battling the car dealership lobby, that doesn’t like the idea of outside competition without building expensive dealerships like they have decided to do. This was a problem that Rivian probably didn’t see on the horizon. Being a Monday morning quarterback it would be easy to say that Rivian should have checked all 50 states and the idiotic laws in all those states. 🤪

And this will accomplish what? If it is so bad sell your Rivian and buy something else. I don’t have issues with my service center. Sorry that you do.

I've had three different service center experiences for minor issues. Two were outstanding and one was ok. Also had mobile service for a minor tailgate adjustment. Didn't have to leave the driveway for that one.

I w found that if it’s a serious issue and you actually call youll get in much sooner
To be fair, "serious" is subjective. What I consider serious (not being able to use the front passenger seat because of a problem with the door) isn't serious enough for Rivian (San Jose area) to get us in sooner than 3.5 months ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

First time I needed to schedule service there were zero appointments available for ever and ever. Called. Problem solved. Wasn't worth getting bent out of shape over.

3 weeks out on my next one, because I made the decision to turn down mobile service.

Again nothing urgent from my side. I suspect others may not be as tolerant but to date any issue has only been a minor inconvenience for me so eh.

Plus, I'm totally down with keeping a positive relationship with the service center folks.

The starting point for a lawsuit is damages. If the car can't drive and you can't get it serviced and no remedy is provided (e.g., a loaner car), you can begin to identify damages associated with lost wages due to the inability to get to work, inability to make it to Dr's appt, etc. If the car breaks as the result of it not being serviced in a timely fashion, you may have damages associated with repairs, alternate transportation, or , god forbid, injuries. Inconvenience doesn't tend to move the needle for lawyers looking to make a buck on a class action suit.

Class action assumes there is a large number of unsatisfied Rivian owners. Based on everything we read that doesn't seem to be the case. Are there challenges? Sure thing. Are they getting better, yes. Did you buy a new product from a new company but still want to complain? Apparently so. Without any details no one can offer constructive assistance.

Rivian service has been great for me, tire rotations, some minor issues nothing to complain about let alone sue.
