Well with all the initial issues with my Dune R1S, I didn't get a chance to get the PPF and ceramic completed before driving from San Diego to Whistler (which has been successful - full trip report coming after the return trip), where I'll be until July. So I looked into having it done in Vancouver while I'm here.

The Xpel pricing with Rivian is exactly the same CAD vs USD. (i.e. my selections are 3,945 USD installed in the US or 3,945 CAD installed in Canada.). I'm also placing my order directly with the installer at the same price - they make a little more on it, and I don't have to pay the full amount until I go to pick it up (you pre-pay in full if you book on the Rivian Xpel page).

Thought folks that lived near the border may want to consider - I was excited to be saving $1,000.

https://lp.xpel.com/en-ca/rivian-protection-ca (Canada order page - can only place Canada install orders on this page, US page will error out).

So I take it that you got all your issues resolved and you're keeping it? Exciting!

It seems that way. The valve issue seems to be rectified - 1,700 miles since the second replacement and no more problems! I do love the improved ADAS - makes long road trips like that so much more relaxing.

Glad to see that you've installed the Xpel PPF. I chose the BOP PPF. This is a recommendation. It's cheaper and have great performance. You may save a lot and you can contact them at any time for help

Well, that's a bit harsh.

My R1S is my second wrapped car - my other one has been wrapped for 4 years and it's done a bangup job at keeping the factory paint in mint condition (I had to get a panel replaced when a truck backed up and cut through the 8mil PPF but miraculously stopped short of doing damage to the door).

Good PPF has 10 year warranties, which is longer than most people keep their cars these days. The warranty on my other car (Stek brand wrap) includes yellowing.

It's expensive, but if price isn't a concern the quality of life improvements are fantastic. Washing is a breeze. Rock chips are much less likely to lead to paint chips, and good PPF tends to be "self healing" - on a hot day the wrap softens up and small scratches sort of buff themselves out.

Protex in Vancouver did a great job (front ppf + rocker panels, full ceramic). It was super easy to book with them over the phone (rather than having to go through the xpel corporate Rivian webpage). Paid a 25% deposit (rather than 100% if you book on the site), drove down from Whistler to drop it at their shop in N Vancouver on Monday. It was a 10 min walk through a nice north shore neighborhood to the seabus over to downtown, where I caught a direct bus back to Whistler. Did the reverse to go down and pick it up on Thursday.

It was super easy, no hassle, and saved me 1,000 USD. Highly recommend to folks near the border.

What coverage did you get, and what type of XPEL?

My (PNW) quote for XPEL Stealth was around $6.5k for full coverage (extended edges and corners). Took them 4-5 days to finish, so the math for me wouldn't have worked out to do it up there (would have needed a hotel and something to do for a week up in BC, which would have eaten into the savings). Neat idea though!

https://lp.xpel.com/en-ca/rivian-protection-ca. Not sure about the extended edges, but that's the CA site -numbers are the same just different currency. So prob about 1,800 in savings.

Only makes sense to combine with a trip up here though. They actually had mine done in 3 days, so probably could still save $1,000 after a couple of nights hotel stay. I've always liked Vancouver and BC - would visit much more if I lived up here.
