Did we recently get an update that automatically runs the blower after you lock your truck to dry the heater / evaporator core?

I had asked for this as a feature to help dry the air box / vents to help get rid of smell from the AC when you have been running it for a while and let it sit while it still humid.

I still manually turn off the AC and bring in fresh warm air to dry up the air box but few days ago when I went into the garage I noticed the vehicle running a drying sequence for the HVAC system.

I just want to check if anyone else has noticed the same thing and if we have any official notes from Rivian about it if its true.

Recently I did notice this, although I don't know when it started since (like you) I manually turn off the HVAC when I park.

If I don't, the HVAC will blow on a pretty high setting maybe a minute or two afterwards. I didn't notice how long it ran, because when I went back to the car again (I was in my garage), it had stopped.

I did read on the forums (or maybe Facebook) that others have experienced this too.

I felt like I was going crazy hearing the blower motor go on full blast like I normally do when am trying to dry the air box but this was after I had locked my vehicle.

Hopefully this update will help a lot of folks with removing any unwanted smells from the AC system when you forget to dry the HVAC system.

Mine also does it when unlocked. I noticed it in my garage when the windows were down and the car was unlocked (door handles open).

Mine has been doing this for a while, but it does it weather the actual was running or not. Almost every time. I would back to the garage and the fans would be running full blast. I would open a door and it would shut off and not turn back on. I was going to open a ticket on it.

I've caught mine blowing air in my garage as well. Thought I was going crazy. Opened the door and it turned off.

Yes, it occurs a few minutes after parking the vehicle and blows full blast for maybe 5-10 seconds. This is not a bug. I’m glad they programmed this in.

I haven't personally noticed it, but I've also suggested this via the app and RivianTrackr feedback.

It runs much longer than 10 seconds, doesn't seem to shut off unless I open the door...I'll try to time it next time it happens

I haven’t noticed this in my R1S. Is there a setting you need to turn on? It will really help with drying out the AC before shutting the car down.
