Based on the S1 description of 1 year inclusive membership upon delivery and website description.

Unlimited charging on the Rivian network

Mobile warranty support

OTA updates

Anything else?

Without a mesoscale support infrastructure in place it's obvious that the value of such a program for pre order holders will be limited unless some sort of exemption or extension is considered based on a owners proximity to Rivian hubs or charging stations. Without such a network in place it's pretty clear we have a long wait ahead of us if we are to benefit from this part of the Rivian offering. I feel like it will be worth the wait and look forward to more details of the Rivian Membership plan over the next 12-16 months. Rivian is asking for feedback on this. https://rivian.com/legal/membership Let's provide them with some.

Completely agree. I certainly hope that all of us early adopters get a discount or an extended period of “free trial” time as the RAN and other membership benefits get built out.

You get a YEAR of it for free. Is that really not enough? They could launch with NO free time.

What if the "year free" *is* the reward for being an early adopter? Or the fact you GET YOUR TRUCK.

I really don't understand the entitlement.

It's not entitlement. It's the concern that early adopters won't get to use this feature as it is unsure they will get 1 year from the point of you getting the vehicle or 1 year when Rivian finally puts up enough of the infrastructure to be able to make use of the free year's feature.

Pretty sure you have mobile warranty support and OTA without the membership.

Hoping there is at least a trial Spotify membership, even if its vehicle only, to see if I like it. I know its popular and a lot of people use it, but not sure I want to pay for another music service.

What I would like to see is ALL of the subscription features disabled when I take delivery. That will allow me to fully understand what my ownership experience will be like on day 366. I will gladly spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on whatever modifications need to be made to allow me to use whichever mapping and/or music I choose.

I don't currently have AA or ACP in my current truck, so an iPad does a great job as a replacement infotainment system in my truck. I will find a decent iPad mount for the R1.

Vehemently disagree.

If I sell you a product, offer you a free feature for a full year for buying that product, and that feature's benefits kick in the day you receive said product, however, the feature won't be available for another 8 to 12 months, then you didn't get squat out of the feature. That's not entitlement, that's being promised something that you in particular won't have access to all because you got in "too early". This is something that should ticker down when enough of Rivian's infrastructure is in place to be able to make use of this feature. Rivian has like, what? Maybe a dozen or two charge stations throughout the entire U.S at the moment?

I can see how late adopters can miss out on something for coming in late. But missing out on something for coming too early? That's not rewarding the people that took the risk of buying a first launch product from a new company (note: I'm not a Launch Edition holder), especially since this is supposed to offered to ALL Rivian purchasers (Launch Edition holders included).

As pre order holders If we are able to collectively agree on suggested featured elements of the Rivian membership program they will listen. This forum could be a great place to vet those core elements. If we are collectively unable to rally as a pre order group and make suggestions to Rivian, then we must take what we get.

Here are a few things I would like to receive or have access to as a benefit of Rivian membership.

Free charging is an obvious perk of the proposed membership. Besides insurance, it's one of the most costly elements of owning an EV. (BTW I saved 30% going with bundled home and auto using Rivian). Without a microscale Rivian charging network infrastructure in place early vehicle recipients would bear that cost. Would Rivian provide a charging stipend utilizing existing networks based on a vehicle location and use. Maybe a range quota based on the vehicle's use and distance from a Rivian Hub or station until which time a Rivian charger comes online in the owner or drivers area. The ability to track criteria of this type of data is built in.
As a Tesla owner I find it frustrating not to be able to easily monitor our T EV from a desk or laptop. Will we be able to access our Rivian from more than our mobile devices? Could it be a layered monitoring ability if not full control?
Access to the vehicles stored data with a login to a layer of analytics used by Rivian for monitoring the well being of the vehicle and driver including images captured by the cameras. The data points this generation of EV create are no doubt impressive.
A better understanding of the Rivian's Smart Home integration ability so that we are able to integrate this type of capability well before delivery.
Options for entertainment subscriptions.
Note to administrator. If this takes hold maybe we could compile it on the site so the members take more notice? Any ideas on how best to do that?

So don’t take delivery of a Launch Edition. Delay your order and you can wait while other people enjoy their trucks but you’ll get your full year of whatever feature.

That’s your choice.

It’s entitlement to demand you get your truck soon AND demand more free time.

I take you missed the part that I stated I'm not a Launch Edition holder?

Hypothetical situation: Rivian offers a free service for people who buys their product prior, lets say 12/31/2021 as an example. I decided to buy on 02/02/2022 and demand that free service all because I have been supporting them since the get go by buying all other of their products. THAT would make me entitled.

Them offering something to everybody, regardless of when you purchased it, that has a time limit and that 'time' expires before they implement the features for one to make use of it will upset the customer base that missed out. They should count down the ticker when enough of their infrastructure is in place in this scenario (I'm not asking for MORE free time. I'm asking the time countdown to start when Rivian puts out enough of their infrastructure to make use of this feature. Still getting 1 year's, and only 1 year's worth).

@E.S. I see you are in Florida. What would you say if they completed all of their infrastructure out West and up North but didn't have Florida complete yet? Could they start your year then or do they need a level 3 RAN buildout in your neighborhood?

Doesn't need to be a lv 3 RAN, lv 2 will suffice.

Tell me this. Can the majority of people who bought a Rivian be able to access those RANs conveniently despite the distance from those units? I think you know the answer to that.

Keep in mind that I live in S. Florida, where it takes 8 hrs just to leave the state -

Me: "Honey, I'll be back in 16+ hours".
Wife: "Where are you going?!"
Me: "Going to get 'gas' for the R1T" ?

I discussed this with the marketing department during the drive event in Normal.

I proposed that the 1 year free was a great benefit to us LE reservation holders as long as I could pick the year that would be free.
