Does getting purchasing and delivery information emails mean anything anymore?

I reserved R1S Nov 8, configured last week, and I've been getting emails about the purchase process. Back when I was waiting for my R1T last year, that meant you were close to delivery. Is this still the case or do they just send these out when you configure your vehicle now?

I ordered and configured three weeks ago. I was assigned a guide who has yet to respond to an email I sent him with three simple questions. I’m getting very concerned about a company that is selling a 90 K vehicle and has such poor customer communication.
