My R1T (Gen 1) is at the body shop to repair some damage. I creased the lower portion of passenger-side door.

Anyway, the truck has been at the shop for 10 days or so and is in "Service Mode", so I can't see anything but the location and the tire pressure. My question is - What is the drain on the battery while in Service Mode. Should I be concerned? The body shop is a certified repair shop and they have chargers iat their location. It's probably OK but it's disconcerting not to be able to see many metrics. I have the Home Assistant integration and everything there, other than location and tire pressure - is listed as "unavailable".

Thanks.

Here's what I found re: Service Mode:
Yes, a Rivian truck continues to use power while in service mode, primarily for essential background systems and to maintain the 12V battery.
While engaging service mode or shipping mode can significantly reduce phantom drain compared to normal operation, it does not eliminate power consumption entirely. The vehicle still requires power for essential functions such as:
  • Maintaining the 12V battery: The vehicle periodically wakes up from sleep to top off the 12V battery, which runs auxiliary systems.
  • Battery Management System (BMS): The system needs to monitor and balance the high-voltage battery cells and manage cooling/warming as needed.
  • Minimal system overhead: Various low-power computing components remain active in a minimal capacity.
Owners have reported vampire drain in "shipping mode" (a similar low-power state) to be around 0.2% to 0.6% of the main battery capacity per day, a major improvement over the ~1% per day drain sometimes seen with all features on.
For long-term parking or storage without access to a charger, it is recommended to leave the vehicle plugged in to prevent the main or 12V battery from completely draining.

If the body shop is Rivian-certified, you shouldn't have to worry. They know what to expect. (My R1T's in a certified shop right now, too, for the same kind of fix.)
