Hi All

I would like to share my first service experience.

[a] Things raised vs corrected vs called out as [c] Standard operating procedure

[a] Request raised for

1. AC Crank up Noise when the car is kept to cool mode.
2. Drive mode changing noises and crank sound while lowering the height.
3. Jarring sound when driving locally from center speaker console (inside the cabin).
4. Front left pillar molding rubber wear out.

Corrected
#3 is corrected by applying a thick tape under the speaker s
#4 Service engineer said, he will be checking if it can be covered under warranty, I understand we have comprehensive warranty until 5y/60k miles, so should be covered ideally

[C] SOP
#1 and #2 looks like these are very usual

A few things I learnt along the way during the interaction with service Engineer

1. All the speakers under the front speaker grill are made by Meridian (My overall system is Elevation)
2. Apple car play may be soon in books.
3. Heads-up Display in future models.

I have a picture of Meridian speakers under the front grill, if anyone needs it

Could you post the picture of the speakers? Are they labeled/branded Meridian? And can you share what VIN number? Would help determine if your vehicle is newer but still has the Meridian, or if older and was part of the transition.

also… interesting note on the heads up display. Hadn’t even thought that as. Possibility, but I like it.

Some of the first folks who received the Elevation sound systems posted pics back then showing all the speakers were Meridian.

The change was probably more about how it was tuned and including the Meridian branding than anything else.

I just had a badge on the passenger side replaced as it had come loose - and the mobile appointment was on time, got it done, and also did a multi point inspection. Delightful.

I posted this yesterday on another forum.


My first service experience has started. I did an in-app repair request, which is how every vehicle should be serviced. Not a service advisor who is available only when he wants to be and isn't walking around dealing with things, away from his phone. You just describe the issue in the app, upload videos/photos, and set an appointment.

Except that it failed.

So I called as instructed. It failed because one of my reports included a potential safety concern and they wanted a human to triage it. Ok, it wasn't bad, three minute hold to get a human. He had all my reports and videos, and set up two appointments. One problem is that the power bed cover is hanging up. This is a known issue, with a TSB and replacement program. They won't have the new cover for a few weeks, so they set up a time to replace it then, and also will come to my house on Monday to lock it open so the bed stays usable. Just no cover. Not great, not terrible. I'll get a loaner or rental at no cost when I take it in for the other stuff in a few weeks, unlike my experiences with other brands. Even when supposedly available, I almost never got a rental. "Oh, they are all out...we can give you a shuttle home." WTF. And the SA phone tag was always annoying, as well as the translation problems (customer to SA to mechanic). With this method, the mechanics will see my own words and my videos talking to them.

Private? Lol. In many cases the specific approximate build date is important, such as knowing whether you have certain features. But at least saying “about 10000” would work. But the number has no privacy implications and doesn’t matter. It’s just a sequential number.

we had rattling on the front speaker and wind noise on the "triangles" windows and the mobile appointment we had it was fixed. He said the speaker is meridian (we picked our R1T up in May of 2023).

The pillar cover on the drivers' side was coming off and the mobile guy replaced it. He said that the clips break off easily. We also had the rubber trim below the driver side coming off....that was fixed with a mobile appointment (when they delivered our full-size spare).

Our mobile guy Kevin is amazing and every time he did a full inspection of everything.

Hello folks, I have good news to share. I’m not gonna be a whiny customer and complain about anything. My issues are of the past what it was is the fog lamps at the bumper have a dual purpose one is for eliminating the light as a fog light for driving that you can manually switch on, and the other is a security perk perk when you’re exiting or entering the vehicle and you press the door locker unlock the lower fog lamps. Eliminate the area to allow you to see around the vehicle. My problem was one of my lights was not working the passenger side I brought it into the dealer in January or February after I got the vehicle in December 23 , I’ve done eight or more resets of the computer at least four of the soft resets in the handle of the steering wheel and four of the resets with the emergency flashers even when it went to the shop all they did was to reset and they said it was working I still had the ongoing problem it was just frustrating after paying that much money for the vehicle and not seeing it. We have two Rivian at the household. My girlfriends Rivian worked fine. I had one service technician come to. He never even looked and took it apart and he couldn’t tell because it was daylight it’s sensitive on my last visit from a service technician yesterday big shout out to Joseph. We discussed the problem we to discuss what I have done we discuss what the service center did and what the previous technician did and he assumed it was possibly a wired that was being pinched, I could not wrap my head around that correctly to understand , but he pulled out the mud guard under the wheel well and looked up underneath the car where the wiring harness was for the light and yes, as they built the vehicle, somebody went quick and looped the wire underneath the frame and bolted the frame on top of the wire comp Pressing the wires limiting the electrical current flow once he loosen the bolt and the framing he was able to get the wire to move. Left me during daylight hours and I did not check it until this morning at 4 AM only to be pleasantly happy and please and surprise everything is working fine Again a great shout out to the technician Joseph, who made the call made the assumption of the correction and I’m happy with the results
