There have been several occasions where my FM radio will fail to connect. It tries but ends up timing out and then says "unable to connect". Turning it off and on does nothing. Sometimes the next time I get back in the vehicle it connects and works fine. The time away from the vehicle varies in length. It might be 1 hour or 3 days later. Usually I need to perform a "soft" reset to get it working again.

I was wondering if anyone else sees this issue and if so, did you find a permanent fix? It is a 2025 R1S and I am running the latest software 2024.47.

Thank you.

Same. I have the issue far less when I have HDRadio disabled.
My new least favorite radio trick is when my normal station has low reception at start up the radio switches to a stronger station in my favorites. *Very Annoying*

I listen to radio probably 80% of the time - KNHC C89.5 ?

I was thinking it might be an HD issue. I figure there was a way to disable HD and just use it like an old fashion FM receiver. I will look in to how to disable the HD and see if the issue goes away. I'm the same, I listen to the radio when I'm just driving around locally. KQAC 89.9 (All Classical Port/Van). However, on longer trips, I'll often connect my mobile and listen to my library.

It’s in the settings menu; been a while since I’ve made the change.

Yes, seems to happen when parked deep in bowels of a parking lot. After restarting outside, FM usually returns. Interestingly, the issue seems to have resolved since latest update.

Mine randomly changes channels while listening to the radio. While using Spotify or xm it will randomly change songs. Soft reset does not fix it. Very frustrating.

Our R1S sits in our garage at home. I’ve thought the garage may disrupt the HD signal. Although why would it be intermittent? I might try turning it off when I arrive home and then turn it on only after I exit our garage. Maybe that will improve signal reception. Likely I’ll save this test for a sunny summer day. Short term I’m going to drop the HD setting as Polar suggested and give standard analog radio a try. Sometimes I “tire” of the digital world.

One thing’s for sure, 90% of the time it fails to find a signal, it’s doomed until I perform a soft reset.

I have had this issue once where it could not connect to radio.
If I was playing the radio last, it usually starts again when I start the car, but after maybe 10 seconds, it cuts to silence as if it's reconnecting to data. The service rep said that the radio needed data to function even though there is an FM antenna. I wonder if it's due to the fact that it's switching from regular FM radio antenna to HD Radio using data. So it makes sense that turning off HD radio would let it fall back to using the regular FM radio antenna and have no disruptions maybe.

HD Radio does not use data - it’s just a higher frequency on the same FM band.

So far so good running the radio in non “HD” mode. Just regular FM has been reliable…… so far. My confidence is building but yet to reach 100% ?

I had severe issues with FM that were solved by the Service Center replacing a module.

I’ll keep that in mind. I have a SC appt at the end of January. If I continue to have issues when in HD mode, I can add it to my list.

I wonder what the software is doing when it's trying to connect the radio when the car turns on.
To me it seems like it is constantly scanning for stations. Not sure as to the why.

Don’t help me car - I do not need a consistently updated list of available stations.
