My truck has always had the behavior where it will often not wake up from its sleep when attempting to perform remote commands with the app. Unlocking via PaaK can also be very slow, but I can sometimes get it to unlock via the app. If it does connect, I'm frequently limited in what I can do. I might be able to lock/unlock, but climate might not start, and activating heated surfaces will be greyed out almost all the time. In addition, if the truck has been sitting for more than a day, it will act as there is no internet connectivity when I get in. Spotify will indicate this with a message, Alexa will not function, and I cannot look up addresses that haven't been cached. In general, the longer my truck sits, the more unresponsive it will be to remote commands and unlocking via PaaK. After I drive away, I regain network connectivity within a couple minutes.

I have a solid wifi signal at home via an outdoor AP, and I've tried both 2.4 and 5GHz bands. I've also tried disabling wifi altogether and just running over the cell network, but the experience is the same. The unresponsive behavior is also the same at family members' homes. I'm a connect+ subscriber, though that really shouldn't matter anyway. I've always run ElectraFi, and I can see the truck sleeping for the most part and then waking up periodically. Here is yesterday's log for reference:

This was less annoying in the fall, but it's become a big deal in the winter where I want to preheat the cabin before I leave. It has gotten worse since a few updates ago when they made the truck sleep more aggressively. Anyone else seen this? I finally put in a ticket last night.

Yes, I've seen similar behaviors. It was fine for a few weeks after the last software update, so I don't think that was the cause of my issue. It's really only been a problem for me for the last week.

Yesterday morning, I was trying to preheat the cabin before going to work. The truck would not repsond to the phone app. So I tried an infotainment reset, still no luck getting a response. Then I tried a full system reset, and then the truck responded to the app. Fast forward 6 hours, I was leaving work and tried to warm the cabin. The truck did not respond to the app then. So any benefit I got from the full reset, was very short lived.

I'm hoping the new software release this week will help...

I felt this sometimes with my phone (Android) and I have to kill the app and re-start it. Normally that does the trick for me.

From my wife's iPhone, it always works great.

I'm on an Android (Galaxy S24) but restarting the app doesn't change anything. When the app restarts, it resumes the last action. The only thing that seems to help is to send a door unlock command before doing anything else. I'm then sometimes able to start the climate, but it will still usually grey out the ability to turn on heated surfaces.

Same phone here. Weird.

Every time this happened to me, when I kill the app, I wait 5-10secs to restart it.

At least yours doesn't do this all day...constantly wake/sleep on short duration because the phone is apparently too close, despite being 50+ feet away in a garage through several walls. In my case, this behavior started after one of the software updates that claimed to enhance the PaaK sensitivity. And even while my truck does this, I still sometimes have to take the phone out of my pocket before the truck will unlock as I stand right next to it, or literally lean against the driver door.

I have the same issues. I put in a ticket about a month ago and the earliest appointment is in February.

I have a similar issue, my Gen 2 R1T shows it has limited connectivity and I have not been able to resolve this through a soft and hard reset. Since it has limited connectivity it has not been able to download nor install the latest software update.
I just unplugged the usb c cables and hard drive to see if a “sleep reset” would help.

Please let me know if you were able to install the lates OTA sw update.

The latest software update installed yesterday with no problem. I noticed that the update went into a “preparing” status while I was driving. I don’t know when the download completed, but it installed when I was at home, parked, and on WiFi.

I have not yet had a chance to see if this fixed my issue with waking the truck from the app when in a sleep state yet.

I had no problem installing the update yesterday, but it did fail to actually start the previous one. I tapped the install prompt on the app and went to bed. The next day I found that the command never went through and the install didn't happen. Now I unlock the truck via the app before I do anything else. It seems to respect lock/unlock commands more than anything else, and those tend to break the ice, allowing me to do most other tasks, but not always.

Once the truck has connectivity, it keeps it as long as it doesn't go to sleep, so this definitely seems to stem from how the truck goes to sleep and wakes up.

This is not “normal” and indicates there is either something wrong with your truck or with your phone/app.
Have you tried a “full reset” with the truck? Have you tried to delete/uninstall and then reinstall your app?

Truck is in for service now and this is one of the noted issues. We'll see if the SC is able to replicate it.

Not sure if this is helpful to you at all, but some of the behavior you describe is how mine functions.

With regards to Wi-Fi, my R1S often does not stay connected to the network if it's asleep. When awoken it seems to reset all of the connectivity (wifi and cellular will often show as disconnected momentarily).

That said, I can't say I've experienced the same behavior with slow/non app response. Especially if I'm standing within bluetooth range.

The closest thing I have experienced is that often times when I'm home, if I push the climate button it will wake the vehicle but not start the climate. For a moment while the vehicle is waking my app will show a red cloud icon indicating that it's not connected via cellular. After a few seconds, the cloud goes away the vehicle is awake and I can send the climate command.

If I start climate from far away (outside of Bluetooth range) it will often take 30 seconds or so to wake the vehicle and receive confirmation that climate is running. During that waiting period all of my controls are grayed out

Does this sound somewhat like what you're observing?

For reference I have a Galaxy S23+ and a G2 R1S
