I guess I didn't notice, but I was told that the latest update would have front camera activation when parking. I could have sworn it didn't work when I was parkingbin multiple spots yesterday. Neighbor ( rivian employee) said ot was working on his test vehicle, but not great and wasn't sure if it made it to the update.

I have the latest update and I haven't seen anything.

Do you mean it'll just turn on when it *thinks* you're parking? I feel that would get annoying quickly.

If I need to check something, I just hit the camera button and its on instantly.

Yes, it does. I just took a 375 mile trip yesterday and I used it many times - every time I park, out of habit. And yes I'm on the latest 2023.38.0 release.

I just hit the camera icon in the dock if I need that on. Don't think I need it to automatically come on?‍♂

If you're parking and turning the wheel sharply and trying not to hit pedestrians or get hit by other yahoos who aren't paying attention, a button of any kind is a little awkward. Giving a voice command lets you focus on what you're doing.

There are several owners, myself included, where this isn't true anymore. Glad it works for you, but I think it illustrates the usefulness of an inbuilt feature like this.

I typically would agree. My driveway is curved, dirt, and WA winters wreak havoc on it. The truck bounces around too much on it to make pressing the camera icon practical.

Fair enough. I usually don't turn it on until I'm halfway into the spot, so I'm past those hazards for the most part. Plus I'm one of those weirdos who hates talking to my technology. To each their own!

Last week Alexa stopped opening my hood, after using that command for months. Now saying “Alexa open the hood” results in her trying to play some godawful music choice. :headbang:

Yeah, so finicky. Last winter, "Alexa, turn on the steering wheel heat" worked great. Now she says, "there are several devices named Steering Wheel. Which one would you like?".
