Born and raised on a large family farm. I understand stuck and why we always carried a log chain. Back when I was driving a Ridgeline, I was pulled out from a remote ranch with a D-7 Cat. Sometimes getting out on your own is not possible.....

Just curious did you try sand mode?
I did. By then it was arguably too late. Once it didn't work we pulled the goalie and decided to walk to the other truck and pull via log chain.

Sooo…….

Was leaving the deer blind last night, driving through an otherwise innocuous field that I’ve been driving through all week. However, earlier in the week, temps started slight below freezing - and rose to ~ 50F. Coupled with about 1”-1.25” of rain over 3 days and the field got a little swampy. I wasn’t expecting it at all, and was truly caught flat footed. Any attempt to rock back and forth just didn’t get us there.

Luckily the buddy that was with me had his full size truck at my farm building and we walked to get it and pulled my R1T out from a different angle.

”maybe” I could have got it out with more time, but since we had another truck available (albeit a mile walk), we chose that route.

Definitely one situation where such a heavy truck does not work in one’s favor.

Maybe time to invest in traction boards?
I got a unimog stuck in similar situation and was pulled out by a bulldozer. My winch was not enough.
I also got a 5ton truck stuck when in the Army and it took 2 tanks to get me out.
Mud can really suck.
