Hello fellow Rivians,
Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Owned a 2018 Tesla Model 3 for about 5 years prior to switching to Tesla Model Y for about 6 months. Sold Infiniti QX60, my last gas car about 2 months ago. Reserved R1S on 11/30/2022 after test driving it. Received invitation from Rivian to configure R1S on 10/30/2023, around 11 months after placing the order. Visited local Rivian service center to check out color options for exterior and interior. Service center in Richmond has been very helpful to show us R1Ss in the lot, which covered pretty much all available options. Placed an order for a dual motor, long range blue one with black mountain interior on 11/01/2023. My delivery window updated to Dec'23-Jan'24 in late nov'23. I was invited to the shop access on 12/08/2023. I didn't see an R1S that matches my configuration until 01/31/2024. I have been in touch the Rivian guide and she has been very helpful in answering my questions. My vin is an 2024 model in the 36xxx range. It is currently at the Normal factory awaiting shipping any day. Local Rivian service center has also reached out to me with this update.
Looking forward to the delivery of R1S. I have been following several threads in this forum to understand more about R1S. BTW, I am getting the Tesla universal wall connector installed tomorrow in addition to the nema 14-50 receptacle that I already have in the garage.
