How long to register new TPMS?

Drove several miles, probably 10min, and my new Rivian branded TPMS never registered. Oddly I purchased these from the gear store and had Rivian install them and the tech told me they couldn’t guarantee them to work because they weren’t purchased during the surface appointment…

I have limited knowledge of TPMS sensors but I have aftermarket versions on my snow tires and they paired within a minute or two of driving… I think that’s what is “supposed” to happen…

Anectodal, but I temporarily ran some Dodge Ram wheels and different tires WITHOUT TMPS for a couple of weeks. Had the sensor warning come up.

Changed back to factory 22" wheels/tires with factory TPMS and within ~2 minutes it synced up again and the warning went away.

When I ordered my winter tire and wheel set up, they included 433MHZ sensors. They paired with the vehicle almost immediately on the first drive.

Just to follow up, I went for another drive and they eventually registered after 10-15min

My data point: I got aftermarket wheels installed last week. The new sensors (aftermarket, OEM-spec from Atomic Wheels) never registered on my 15-mile/20-ish minute drive back home, but they did start showing up about 5 miles in a drive the next day.

Mine took a week for some reason. The shop at the time only had R1S settings, even though R1S was not shipping at the time. Make sure your old rims are far away from the new ones. The sensors may get confused.

i have aftermarket TPMS sensors on 2nd pair of rims. Everything works fine now.

Mine took about 8 miles or roughly 15mins of continuous driving to register upon switching out rims/tires. I believe they are the OEM Sensors (EV1 Mounted package)
