I am shopping for a new insurance plan for my 2023 R1T...how much do you pay for insurance and which company do you use?

When I got my 2022 R1T the cost of insuring it was $1100/year (Mapfre - see policy details below). In 40 years of driving, I've never caused an accident or had other issues that would drive up my premium. In December 2024 someone ran into my (parked) R1T and destroyed it. Mapfre eventually paid for a similar age/miles R1T and said they would recover the money from the guy who hit me (insured by Allstate). I was told that my premium would not go up because the accident wasn't my fault. Then, a week after the delivery of my new R1T I was sent a premium adjustment bring my insurance up to $2400/year, more than double! The difference in the cost between a 2022 and 2023 used R1T (with same specs) was only $5000. Clearly I'm being punished for an accident that wasn't my fault and I'm not inclined to keep this policy. Curious what eveyone else is paying and what the best company is. (I'm located in MA)

Still cheaper than what I am paying in TX with an excellent driving record as well. We had someone sideswipe one of our Teslas when on vacation and it jacked our rates even though it wasn't an at-fault accident. Just having a claim, your fault or not, can seem to do that based on the different insurance agents I spoke with. If we left our current carrier, it would be even worse.

I'm paying around $6k/year, comes out to around $10k/y between our R1S and R1T - the joys of living in a high crime area. Our first claim ever was for hail damage to our R1S last year, and so far, have not seen it go higher as a result (thank deity!).

I have teenage drivers. R1T and R1S. Great driving records all around. We also have a Mach-E on the coverage. Annual went up to 15,500. After re-quoting with many carriers (including Rivian) half would not cover because they don’t do teens on performance vehicles. After 8 quotes we got one at 6,500/yr.

even did a bit less for a slightly higher deductible ($1000)

glass was $0 now $50 deductible. I can live with that.

$190/month in California for similar coverage as what you've quoted.

That's crappy, but it may also have been a coincidence or a slight increase based on the accident and then an inflation increase. Vehicle insurance prices have skyrocketed in the last year or so. I have Geico on my ICE and it more than doubled in the last two years without any accidents or anything. I've seen articles about it and spoken to friends who are experiencing the same thing.

$2k a year. It’s high because that includes my son driving and he has had tickets and a couple of fender benders.

Close to you in coverage, my collision is at 1k. Central California, late 20s single guy, completely clean record, I pay $3000 a year($255/Mo). That is after shopping around after my prior insurance raised my rate from $3000 to $4000 after the first year out of nowhere.
