Took delivery yesterday and added a few bits and pieces right away:
Rivian Racks
Yakima SupDawg
Yakima Roadshower
Soft Tonneau
The racks are nice, but the space that is left between the two sides as they expand means my SupDawg surfboard racks would have been slightly uneven so I had to mount the Supdawgs a bit off-center. All's well that ends well because the Roadshower evens out the look so it isn't too asymmetrical (I might have a slight case of OCD when it comes to symmetry and straight lines).
I have to decide whether it's best to transport the foil board facing forward or backward. The traditional fin forward means the covers on the foils would fly away on the highway (the velcro openings on the covers face the rear of the board), so nose forward might work best - but in the end the strap positioning vs. the mast will be the deciding factor.
The Roadshower, so far, is really nice. Water comes out with plenty of pressure and is quite the upgrade from rinsing with water in old milk jugs. It gets extremely hot from the sun this time of year, so I'm only using it to rinse equipment and feet. I was going to try to fit it in the gear tunnel with a home made base (it fits, and would stay cooler) so I could do two bike racks on the racks, but they wouldn't fit, so opted for the shower on the racks instead. I gotta say, I like how it looks. Now I have to find a good hitch rack for two bikes...
The soft tonneau will probably be replaced by one of the hard ones with sliding slats at some point. It cannot be rolled under the racks, so the only way to open it is to fold it in half, then in half again until it clears the front rack, and then kinda roll it awkwardly to where you can secure it open. Closing it back up is even more awkward with all the gear on top. It seems the sliding hard slats would be much easier to work with in my scenario.
