Sorry if this in the wrong spot, but opted toward trips...
Anyway, we planned a week in Bass Lake and Yosemite. The nearest charging to Yosemite (not counting the few destination chargers in the park) is in Oakhurst where there's one EA station and two L2 chargepoint stations.
Some tweakers hit the town and cut the cables off of ALL the public chargers in the entire town. We spoke with EA, they've got cables on order, but the usual supply chain issues are putting that on hold, so no ETA on a fix. The closest DCFC to Yosemite is now in Fresno (if you're toward the southern entrance). There's some J1772 plugs at the Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp, but one is broken and they're reserved for guests. You can pay to charge at it if it's available, the cost is $25. Doesn't look like it will be readily available to a non-guest anytime soon.
We ended up renting a stall at the Bass Lake at Yosemite RV park (with Sam's Club discount, $88) for the night which gives us 50 amp charging as much as we need over the next 24 hours, and is walking distance from the resort we're staying at. Now we'll be fine for a trip deep into the park and still be able to make Fresno or Los Banos on our way home to DCFC. Costs about $50 more than an EA charge, but on vacation, I'm willing say my time is worth that not having to do a 2 hour round trip to Fresno plus charge time.
Just making anyone planning a similar trip aware that it comes with some extra challenges right now.
Adventure safely, y'all.
