Hi. I have a Gen 1 R1S and have been using my iPhone 13 Pro through various iOS updates as a PAAK flawlessly since getting our R1S in Sept. 2023. Today, I updated from iOS 18.0.1 to iOS 18.1 (which was released this morning), and the PAAK is barely working, it at all. Unlocking/locking takes 45 seconds or more. When sitting in the driver's seat ready to go, the R1S has only recognized my phone once. Probably 10 other times trying to drive away today, I had to use the card key. And, I use proximity unlocking while away from home, and that never worked today, either.

Is anyone else having difficulties with 18.1 or PAAK in general today? Just curious before I go through the process of removing all evidence of my phone from the Rivian and then removing all evidence of Rivian from my phone. Then I'll set it all up again and see if it works.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
PaaK is behaving a little better with mine - 18.1 and iPhone 15.

That said, I am now seeing other weirdness in the app, like this morning where it was 55 in the cab and I got the thermometer icon suggesting it was too hot.

Sure it wasn’t too cold?

Mine has been awful since iOS 18 I believe (12 Pro Max). Generally fine for starting, but I usually need to at least wake the phone if not open the app for it to unlock the truck. I’m hoping it gets better with 18.1 (just did the update tonight).

That was my first thought, but it was in the high 40s that night. I don't recall seeing this last winter, so maybe it just knows I'm a pansy and my tush gets cold easily?

I think the too cold activates under 55 or so. I could be wrong, so don’t quote me.

I have a 16 pro with 18.1 beta and no PAAK issues at all. I love Apple intelligence; you can actually use Siri in the car to play a channel or SiriusXM or send and receive messages by speaking naturally. Don't miss carplay with it.

Last couple days, I’ve noticed some issues with locking and unlocking using PAAK. But yesterday, I tested it in a parking lot and it worked. So inconsistent at least.
I think there’s something that has changed, but I’m not sure I fully understand under what conditions and why. I assumed it was related to Halloween update, just a theory
IOS 18.0.1 on an iPhone 12.

OP here...I deleted the key phone key and reinstalled it, and that seemed to do the trick for now.

As far as I know, the cabin will only warm if you do it. (Gen1)
