They do but even the ones with old resistive heating systems can charge at 250kw. I had a 2018 Model 3 and it regularly fast charged at 250kw max.

Either Tesla doesn't give a rat's ass about pack longevity, since they can profit off of pack replacements... Quite possible, given their record.

Or, Rivian is being conservative and would rather [do what they can to] safeguard customer experience... until they have a service network that is robust enough.

Rivian told me that my HV battery pack is 100% capacity after 10 months and 18k miles. If it's true, I would believe they are being conservative. Most of the data says a significant amount of degradation occurs during the first year.

Not necessarily--regular deep/rapid discharging/charging, storage at extreme temps, prolonged non-use at high/low SoC--these factors matter more than battery age, esp Lithium-based one.
