My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Yup, that was us! Glad you were still able to make it, I was thinking you were forced to take 84 or Tunitas. 2.82 mi/kWh is impressive. I’m assuming we’re going to average around 2 mi/kWh with our 20 ATs. We have a little Mini Cooper electric that gets closer to 4 mi/kWh that we’ll use for commuting and zipping around town. This is our first time being a fully EV household…we’ll see how it goes. Are you planning on keeping your e-golf?
Definitely keeping the eGolf. It’s such a delightful little car and is super efficient. Managed to pick it up right before the pandemic and all of the associated supply-related insanity new for super cheap. It’s mostly my daughter’s commuter for school until she heads off for college.

The R1T is an upgrade from our ‘19 Tundra and while I miss the vroom-vroom noises, my inner child is delighted by all the other goodies the R1T brings to bear. I’m thrilled to (mostly) not sending money to oil companies …. and will be selling our last ICE car soon.

Awesome. The last gen golf in both EV and ICE forms was a really well thought out and put together car. I feel the combo of a small, efficient EV and the Rivian is great. I actually love our little Mini. Like your golf it’s a short range city EV, but with a home charger setup it’s a total non-issue. I understand wanting these +300mile range EVs for road trips or more remote locations , etc but I feel like a large portion of the population over estimates how much range they really need. A huge reason why the golf, mini, and other similar city EV‘s are more efficient is because they’re not lugging around a huge battery.

If I see a blue R1T in HMB I’ll give a wave.
