Tried out the trip planner for my trip this weekend from Phoenix to Carlsbad, CA. There are two ways to get there, taking I-10 through Palm Springs then down, or taking I-8 to San Diego then north. I wanted to go via I-10 and charge in Quartzsite (RAN), then in Indio (EA). That basically makes the trip three legs of 110 miles each.

The trip planner was initially only giving me the I-8 route with no other choices. First failure. I finally picked Oceanside as the destination, slightly north of Carlsbad, then it picked I-10. It did pick the RAN in Quartzsite as the first stop, then picked a second stop at EVGO, past Indio. EVGO is much more expensive than EA, and I have the Pass+ discount. So I selected RAN adn EA as the preferred networks, it then picked EA at Indio.

I was able to plan exactly what I wanted, so set the truck to charge to 100% that night and sent the trip to the truck. Got in the truck in the mornings to leave, there was my selected route, all highlighted with the charging stops I wanted. But the truck was also showing two alternate routes, both of which ended up on I-8 via San Diego. I push start, and the nav changes the route to take I-8 via San Diego.

Completely worthless. Ended up just navigating each leg I wanted manually.

I don't think the trip planner is currently designed to copy the route into the truck.

It did copy it, and it was highlighted on the screen. Even the two charging stops were copied.

There's a button on it to "send to truck" the same way you can send a google map to your Rivian.

Unfortunately leg to leg is the way for now especially if you want specific charger networks like RAN

I just did a trip to OBX from Maryland and had the same issue. Also after it picked a charger I couldn't click the charger on the map to see any information about that location. So far I'm not impressed with the Nav for these long trips. It kept wanting to go to chargers that only had 2-4 charging units instead of ones that had 8+.

Just like you I planned each leg by putting in the charger as my destination. I feel like it should work more like plugshare where you put in your destination and it says you need a charger then add what you need or more than you need so you feel comfortable.

Even one leg at a time, the nav does silly stuff. On my trip home, all the chargers were very busy, so when I had 120 miles to the next charger I just went to 50%. When I put in the next stop, it kept routing me back to the charger I just left. It decided I would only have 16 miles left, but in fact I had 40 miles left at the next stop.
