I've been on this forum for nearly two years, placed a pre-order even earlier - Sept 2022 - and am looking forward to taking delivery of a R1S Dual Large tomorrow. Was trying to hold out as long as possible for the NACS port but here I am. It seems newer vehicles are not eligible for "free" NACS adapters, so I ordered one from the Gear Shop. I have a Tesla Universal Wall Charger that I had installed last year which should be fine for home charging.

Tried to order a compact spare but was told that I am unable to order one until after delivery. BTW, the delivery center told me to call and order it before delivery and they would have it installed prior to delivery to make things simple and since they have them in stock. Not the first instance I've seen of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

Have had a few Teslas, still have 2, so not new to EV's. Planning to daily charge to 70%, any more more feels unnecessary and I want to keep this machine, assuming it performs well, for quite a while. Have the dynamic roof but only the base audio, as it's winter in NJ I will wait about figuring out a sunshade.

What else should I know? Any "must have" accessories? The Twraps phone charging pad? All suggestions are welcome, can't wait for the adventure to begin!

How exciting.. Congrats! Sounds like you've got it largely figured out. I have the EV sportline magsafe mount that goes on the left side of the steering wheel and LOVE it. I also got an organizer for the center console floor area (in front of the drawer). I had to shave it down a bit to allow the drawer to open, but it's very handy. There is a 3D print design for a center console tray that goes in the armest console and has a sliding mechanism. I very much want to try that. The tray I currently have blocks the bottom of the armrest console, so I rarely use it.

As far as CCS vs native NACS - I was worried aobut getting a vehicle so close to the switch... but then I realized almost all of the infrastructure is still J1772/CCS. So I'm OK with using the adapter once every couple of weeks while I supercharge, rather than nearly daily for everything else.

Also of note - you're going to LOVE the top down view camera. That is one of few tech areas I feel Tesla really is lacking.

Thanks! Agree Tesla's camera game is lacking in the 360 degree area, looking forward to easier parking with the Rivian as a result. Will take a look at the EV sportline magsafe mount, appreciate the suggestion. May start with the old USB-C cords on delivery and go from there.

I did order a Samsung T7 shield for the Gear Guard/Drive Cam. Anything to know about formatting or should the Rivian just take care of configuring when I plug it in?

Sounds like you're on top of it! T7 should work great. The Rivian will should care of setting up the drive for you.

It sounds like you got everything covered! We got our NACS adapter via USPS about 3 weeks after taking delivery. I keep it in the driver door pocket and use it periodically when I want to charge up quickly using the Tesla charging station a couple miles from the house.

When we took delivery, we took our time and went over the entire vehicle - every port, ever fastener, every button, the works. Everything was perfect when we drove it out of the service center. I suggest you do the same - take your time, look at everything.

You've been here long enough that you probably know what accessories you want. I kept it simple at first, bought a dash phone mount, and organizers for the center console, frunk, and gear tunnel.

Just enjoy the moment and enjoy your new ride!

Have fun: you are gonna love it!

Some things you might consider (I generally use every day):
Small HD for drive recordings. I use a Samsung 2tb… have found 90 deg USB-c adapter helps keep cord out of the way:

Love the forward organizer w/extra drink holders:

Also love the eyeglass/sunglasses holder:

And the center console sliding organizer (wife uses bigger tray in her Riv):

I also picked up some thumbscrews for the hitch - much easier no look removal.

One other fav is XL cargo “cover” that lines the back when 3rd row dropped down. Keeps dog hair largely contained & it stores nicely in the spare tire storage area.

any pics or links of the cargo cover for the back? We've got three teenagers and two dogs so keeping that back clean - or at least cleanable without much fuss - is a great idea.

More info on these thumbs screws you mention. I just had to purchase a replcement cover cause I was to lazy to crawl under to make sure I secured it correctly. $220 mistake!

Running boards for those who need a little help hopping into the new truck. ;) I'm 5'10"and sometimes have trouble getting in and out of them. We're currently offering 10% off + a $50 gift card for orders over $500, which you would qualify for. EV Sportline running boards

Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to grab from our catalogue (I noticed our magsafe chargers mentioned).
