key fob proximity does not work

I want my phone NOT to open and turn on the car when nearby. Rather I want the key fob to do this.
Was easy enough to adjust this setting in menu - but it does NOT work. Anyone else have this issue?

Do the buttons on the fob work? change the battery if your key fob isn’t working. That fob eats batteries MUCH faster than a normal one does. I kept spares in my truck.

Check the updates page in the cars settings to see if it needs an update. My FOB was delivered with out of date software and needed update on day 1.

I saw the "Fob Update" on the update page once, and never again, so I never got that functionality either, but I never use the fob.

But if the fob battery dies, how do you get into the truck to get the batteries?

If you're talking about the brick method, I know how to use that to get into cars, but usually not my own car

Mine has been acting up. Doesn't always lock when I walk away. Sometimes I have to be right on top of the door for it to unlock. Buttons work, but I guess I could change the battery as it may be getting weak.

Anybody know what type of battery it takes?

Well I must have never tried until latest software … cause I never saw this option ever.

All great suggestions which I have tried and nothing works. I also switched it on and off without any difference.
My next attempt will be to switch location to always on to see if that makes a difference… but I really don’t know what else that would effect

Just an update to say... that this all of the sudden magically works. It is not as flawless as using the phone - but mission accomplished (without messing with location).
