Meridian audio system upgraded with JL Audio / Fosgate 10" subwoofer

Meridian system just needed a small kick in the pants. Tesla Model Y has me spoiled so decided to up the game. Rivian is just missing that punch. Wasn't looking to play any MC Bass like in high-school, but just wanted an overall awesome sound. Some teaser pics. Out with the 6x9 "woofer" and in with real stuff. Will update when dialed in. Great job! As Model Y owners we have to agree that Tesla knocks their sound system out of the park. I read that Tesla poached a bunch of Bang and Olufsen sound engineers early on.

This photo illustrates why Rivian will be upgrading the old school electrical architecture under project “Peredine“ for the R1 trucks. The assembly plant is reportedly scheduled to be shut down in the spring for numerous upgrades.

If I were in the market for an R1 I would be holding off for the “new and improved” version coming out later this year.

Nice work. Would love to do this but still maintain the storage area under driver side rear bench. Does the box need to extend full length of rear seat for proper venting/audio dynamics?

IE: would a 10” sub/custom box/amp replacing OEM and just using that passenger half of the under seat storage suffice?

Anymore details on your build? being a little less custom (off the shelf parts it seems), might be more obtainable for many of us. I used to have one of those JL Audio all in one slim subs in an old Audi that I loved; been debating on seeing if it would fit but wasn't sure where to grab power from...

Just ran power from the 12v battery to the back. Using a 10” jl audio micro sub with nvx xlac2 and nvx vadm1 amp

Here is the final install. Very broad sound. Really setup in the 100 hz range. This is a ported box. I'm sure you could go smaller to retain storage.
