My R1T has arrived and I'm ecstatic to say the least! When I discovered the R1T I immediately pre-ordered one, because it was exactly what I was after - A mid-sized, premium 4x4 truck. My 2019 Colorado ZR2 was as close as I could get at the time and it has been a great companion over the years, but eventually the cracks show through. It has a cheap interior, mediocre seats, and a lousy infotainment system. It also has a thirsty V6 and a tall 8 speed transmission that struggles on the highway. It of course makes up for those things with it's locking diffs, Multimatic suspension, and killer looks but I wanted more.

Enter the Rivian R1T. It has the most bad ass combination of everything I was looking for! Better power train, better interior, better suspension, more tech, more features, and it's electric! I absolutely love the exterior design and the Midnight/20" AT combo is just perfectly balanced with Black, silver, and yellow. The Forest Edge interior is gorgeous! This interior is luxury in style, materials, and feel. I'm so glad I went with this color and feel it is the perfect pairing to Midnight. The Rivian staff kept commenting on the color combo also, and hadn't seen it in person until then.

After 200 miles in the R1T, I knew I had made the right choice. The vehicle has met my expectations already and I can't wait to spend more time in it over the coming years. I'm already addicted to the quad motor whine - especially in tunnels! The air ride and active Damping are awesome! Safe to say I'll be letting my ZR2 go to the next owner, and I'm sure I will miss it's character and off-road chops (it will go ANYwhere) but after going electric, there is no going back! I will be an EV only household with our Model 3 Long Range parked beside the R1T. Excited to never visit a gas station again or perform another oil change. Life is good!

I'll be going on some off-road adventures this year and documenting some of it along the way. I'll be sure to share the fun with the forum! Can't wait to utilize the onboard air, auto level camp mode, and all of the accessory power while out in the wild! Adventurous Forever, I can get behind that.

Congrats!!!! It's my #1 favorite R1 combo.

I considered configuring my R1T reservation identical to yours it but told myself "never again" after owning one black vehicle.

100% Agreed. Really love that color and combo, but I don’t have the time to do a black vehicle again. I’ll have to live vicariously through your photos haha! Beautiful truck OP and congrats!

If you have a detailer that is local, loyal and cheap, go with black. If you have to keep it looking good on your own, you will end up hating it or neglecting it, or both. I absolutely love the FE interior, but the wife says she has flashbacks to her grandpa’s 1976 caddy with olive interior and wood inlays. Having met the man, I don’t think they are positive flashbacks, unless you’re into second hand smoke and verbal abuse. Needless to say, I will need to enjoy my olive and brown wood tones on my Orvis equipment, and not for my car’s interior.

Nice - you don't see many black R1s so I might see you on the road as I live in the Bay Area.

I have FE interior - not by choice, it was already spec'd on the truck they offered me but I have to say it has really grown on me. Makes a nice change to black (or white).

Thanks everyone, loving it! Agree this is my favorite color combo out there and Forest Edge is too good!
It always cracks me up the comments about Black Paint. I've had black, blue, white, silver, etc and to me it makes no difference in maintenance. Dirty is dirty! :p

Thought I would post some updates here. Still adore the truck and have about 250 miles so far. I have gushed about my likes, so I think to be fair I will share some dislikes as well.

The bed is all plastic, which is cheap feeling compared to the lined steel box in the Chevy. I do appreciate the space for a spare inside though. Wish the bed extender flap was better secured too. Thinking about anchoring something against it for off-roading.
The Alexa integration is not my favorite. Couldn't it just be an assistant like in the Tesla? It doesn't work great either. Is Bezos mining our voice data? Regardless, I rarely use voice but I still find it weird.
Wireless Android Auto would be nice, solely for Google Maps. Rivian Maps already didn't have a destination I went to. Embarrassing to open the phone for that.
I like the Spotify Integration and typically keep the drive mode screen up so I can adjust suspension on the fly.

The steering wheel details (which look great) intrude into the wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock which feels weird when gripping the wheel there.
Also the rectangular display behind the wheel is sometimes hard to see since it is partially covered. (I notice this mostly because my Model 3 has nothing there and find my hand often hides my speed on the right side of the screen - very personal preference there)

The overall on this vehicle still hits way above it's price point. I look at the comparison below. I used to have a nice 2012 Cayman S which stickered at $84k. The R1T with all of it's features, power, and technology, rings in $8k less in 2023 dollars. Pretty amazing value right there, regardless of how different the vehicles are.
(Miss that Cayman though! 😢)
