Had Thule Wingbars on my Q7. Now have Rivian bars on my R1T. The Wingbars are significantly stronger and stiffer than the Rivian bars. The sliding nature of the Rivian bars leads to more flexibility, and it's visibly noticeable in the rear view mirror on my Rivian. The wingbars on the Audi generated some wind noise, but no wistling at all. Had Thules on my Focus that howled like a banshee at all times, those sucked.
$660 for a complete Thule setup is right inline with industry norms. I think my Q7 setup was like $725 or so for very similar components.
Having had both, I really like how easily the Rivian bars install/remove. The Thule setup is more robust and looks sleeker. If I was permanently mounting something, Thule is the way to go IMO. If you install/remove often, I think Rivian's the way to go here.
