takes 20mins for Rivian to shut down. And if you're using a phone key, it's turning back on any time you're in range. BTW, this is / has been happening regardless of having the phone charger. The charger install just makes people aware of this.

BTW the power draw is de minis. I think our engineers calculated it would take 80years to run the main battery down :CWL:
Thanks. I've checked it without my phone so I wouldn't wake the car.

But if you're saying the ODB charger is pulling from the main battery then I'm less worried. I thought this was pulling from the 12v.

Thank you for the super quick response!

you're good -
BTW, the Rivian has a dc-to-dc charger integrated, the high voltage will charge the low voltage as needed.

Installed this awhile ago and love it - observation/question - is the very soft beeping from the MagSafe Charger head when it's powered on but no phone mounted normal?

Just installed my MagSafe charger and one thing that concerns me a bit with it never turning off is that it seems to wake the truck every few minutes. My office is right next to my garage so I noticed I could hear something clicking after installing it. I use ElectraFi and noticed the frequent wake and sleep cycles just after installing it. I confirmed it with the app as well. The power draw from the charger itself may be so low that it won't be an issue, but waking the truck up every few minutes seems like it must not be great? I guess time will tell if theres a hit to the battery from this behavior.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Remember, your Rivian has always been doing this...you can simply 'see it' now because the charger has a light on it. The power draw from the light will take around 100yrs to drain the Rivian, our engineers calculated it out once :CWL: Not an issue, other than the visual - but we have a black ring for those that want to 'cover it'

So I'm not talking about the fact that the OBD2 port outputs power even when the car is asleep. If you had read my message you would see that I'm asking about the truck being woken every 1-2 minutes. That definitely was not happening before installing the charger and I have data to prove it.

Okay, I see that - but the waking is likely from your phone connecting to the Rivian -- as you mentioned, your office is in close proximity. This is well known, the proximity control on Rivian is a very wide geofence; at least 3x that of a Tesla. I am guessing Rivian eventually turns down the range on that - but for now, the Rivian is going to wake any time your phone is within 100ft or more - unrelated to chargers or accessories.

Again, this is new behavior since installing the charger. I’ve also ensured my phone is not the cause. But I have a support request opened with y’all so we can take this over there.
