NJ Service Centers...

I have been told for more than 18 months now that the Edison and Trenton locations are a top priority and opening any day now. I love my Rivian, would buy one again. However going to Brooklyn for service is not manageable at all. It takes forever to get there and back and is ridiculous. At some point one of the NJ sites has to open to ease the burden on Brooklyn and make getting there better.

Anyone have any clue what's going on, other than typical delays with construction.

I had an appointment in Brooklyn a month or so ago. A week before I got a call asking if I wanted to go to the new vehicle distribution center in Mahwah. They could do limited service items there. Big place with lots of new R1S/Ts awaiting their new owners. I need a follow up but it’s back to Brooklyn.

Mahwah is the unofficial NJ service center. I'm waiting on making a purchase decision until Edison or Trenton open for business - no way I'm driving to Mahwah and maybe Brooklyn depending on whatever issue I may encounter. Either Mahwah or Brooklyn kills a day on each end (drop off, pick up) which I won't do.

When I blew a tire 6 weeks ago was told Brooklyn was my only choice. Refused that and did mobile service, which is amazing.

Yea, I believe Trenton opened 2-3 weeks ago, but it is a temporary location with no waiting area, and in the back of a bus depot. Full location being built and I think slated for 2026.

I'm also hearing rumors of a PA service center s00n, probably 2026 as well.

Hopefully they are still a priority, because the drive to Brooklyn or Gaithersburg was super annoying.

I had a mobile tech appointment yesterday. He confirmed Trenton opened 3 weeks ago.

hm. I just got off the phone with the Service Number and they said “the Trenton SC is still not client facing. We are expecting it to be open later this summer”.

From what I had heard previously they were using it as a base for mobile service.

Do you have a real appointment to go in? Fascinating! Keep us posted!

According to the Rivian web site, as of today (5/15/2024) there are no service centers available in NJ:

I think that's what they must have meant by "not client facing". I'm sure it's much nicer in the back.

Rivian called me and scheduled the service in Trenton. Others have posted about getting work done there. I am sure it is limited availability, even more so than the regular service centers. From what I understand there are no waiting rooms for customers. And Rivian still may call and cancel my appointment.
