I have been waiting a long time for this day to come, did my test drive on Saturday @ Rivian - Chicago showroom.
Realized it was now or never with the 20 percent credit going away. I feel like I am getting a great deal on Gen2 R1T - MAX dual motor LA Silver -Black 22inch road wheels. Couple of questions:

1. I see lots of comments on the Base stereo system, I would like to do an install myself with Subs, etc. so stayed with the basics. Any suggestions on Aftermarket Subs/Amps that have been used?

2. Is the 5000.00 Performance upgrade really worth it? It sounds like software only is that a true statement?

I do, plan on towing but in general will be on road commuting/etc. Boat - 6000lb, smaller jet skis/sled trailers as well.
Thoughts? I will share my experience as it unfolds.

I can’t comment on the Gen 2 specific stuff, but after driving a quad motor Gen 1 for over a year I can say with confidence that no one NEEDS 835 hp, but it is fun as hell. I’ve ridden in a dual motor and it felt like it had PLENTY of get up and go for fun times too.

Congrats on your order! You will love it!?

Congratulations!

1). I haven't tried it, but based on what I've read of others experiences trying to install aftermarket audio, I would opt for the premium audio instead.

2). If you are looking for performance then yes it is. If you are not doing a lot of performance oriented driving then I would just stick with the basic dual motor because you have to be in sport mode on the lowest ride height to get the maximum amount of power and torque. If you're in all purpose, standard or low, you're not going to get more than the Dual motor without performance.

3) Dual Max should handle all your towering needs without issue.

The $5000 adds sport mode which changes throttle response and stiffens the roll stiffness and keeps the truck in AWD all the time. It's definitely fun, but if you're not into sporty driving you'll probably find the standard power that is available more than satisfying. Plus up here in IL, there aren't that many fun roads to explore.
