Outside mirrors frozen in the retracted position

Today my outside temp was 1 °F and my mirrors couldn't open. They were automatically retracted when locked with the truck parked on my driveway. Just a heads up. I'm leaving them in the open position from now on.

Got me a couple days ago also. I am also now in the mirrors don’t need to fold camp.

Friday morning (4am) at -11 no issues with mirrors. Folded/unfolded normal. Due to weather conditions I have kept the truck plugged all night long.

Mine did this but only one and it finally opened after driving about 50 ft, not a big deal. Tbh i think it recognizes when it’s stuck and only applies safe force.

Talked to a Rivian engineer a few months back. "Mirrors have motors, motors break...I leave mine unfolded"...uh ok, thanks for the honesty.

Mine did it once, I switched to always open for the winter. Might change back in the summer.

Trucks have motors, motors break. I guess we also need to leave our trucks in park 100% of the time.

The difference is we can drive our trucks with the mirrors park open.
