PBA to delivery?

good afternoon.

What exactly does it mean when you have signed a PBA, and what is the usual time frame to delivery from there? Does it mean a VIN has been assigned?

I signed my PBA Thursday and just wondering when I will begin my 8 step process and the approximate time frame to delivery.

It used to mean that there was a vehicle in production assigned so they wanted to ensure the configuration in production matched to what you wanted to order. Now, it just seems like it’s a way to quiet people down for a few weeks.

So far there has not been a consistent time interval between guide contact, PBA, 8 steps, and delivery. For some, they completed the entire process in 1-2 weeks. Others may have signed their PBA a long time ago but are still waiting because they have options selected that are not yet in production. The only thing that can be said is once you get to the 8 steps you should expect delivery within a week barring any unforeseen complications.

I asked my guide this last week and got a non-answer.

Signing the PBA used to mean that a VIN was “soft” assigned and the truck was on the way. In the last few weeks with all the new guide contacts, it seems like you sign the PBA right after your initial guide contact. I was emailed my PBA 4 minutes after my initial guide call ended. I’m not sure there is any significance to the timing of signing the PBA now.
