The R1T spinning in circles on Donner pass got me curious about looking at some of my recorded road/drive cam footage, or the auto generated "incident" footage. Not much of a video expert, but here is a snippet of typical conditions here going up to ski.

Would be fun to see others footage from cool areas, fast windy roads, launches, or anything interesting. I looked to see if there is a similar thread, but the search function leaves quite a bit to be desired.

If you are so inclined, add posts with neat footage of your Rivians driving exciting places.

This is fun, but I've found the Gen1 cameras to be woefully inadequate. I had a herd of 10-12 deer cross I-80 in front of me and couldn't see them on the Drivecam footage. The only way I knew I was in the right spot was because the dots to move to the passing lane slowed down.

What I'd really love to see is someone with both a Gen1 and Gen2 post the same 10-15 seconds of road from each version so I could increase my Gen2 envy even more...

How do I retrieve footage that wasn’t specifically saved, I just saved my own ass from getting rear ended but by the time I thought about recording it, it was too late, I recall hearing the recording should be on the hard drive not sure how to retrieve it and save it

It's still there, until it gets deleted if it's very old and your drive runs out of space. My 256 flash drive holds hundreds of hours.

I plugged the drive in, found 2 folders one called drive cam one called save clips, it’s not in either, the drive cam only recorded 2 things today and the save clips is the one I pressed the button too late to capture the near miss. Any other ideas where it could be

What storage device do you all prefer for 'dashcam' recording?

There is a download button I believe in the lower right on the screen, if you push that then it saves it to your flash drive or external drive, assuming you have one plugged in. This is for 'Incidents' that Rivian auto records. If it was not an incident, then you just eject your drive and search through the files to find the date/camera view of the recording since the road cam records continuously. I just use a flash drive and then plug it directly into my phone to look at/download/edit files.
