Quality Control Question: Now that we have real deliveries happening at a steady pace (mine is just a month away !), I am anxious to hear how Rivian is doing with QC. I have read about several people that received trucks with window seal issues on the passenger side (excessive wind noise at highway speeds). Pain and panels gaps have been apparently very good. Seems Rivian does not want to be like another well known EV manufacturer that just forced vehicles through the production process. Still, it is a complex task of launching a new product like this.
Would be very curious to hear what new owners are seeing in their first months of ownership.

I'm going to give it a 7 out of 10. Not one panel is actually "perfect" on the truck. That's not to say it still isn't very very good, I just think that's a fair grade. Mine is going to need either a new front or rear passenger door because the back door sticks out more than the front where the two meet, causing the two to touch when opening only that back door.

Some I'll fitting door trim. Might be able to get it to lay flat if tweaked just right.

I had a mystery item stuck in the gear tunnel hinge that wouldn't let it open all the way. That fell out somewhere and now it's fine.

Alignment is off.

It's been in for all but the alignment and they originally told me everything was normal, so that's not great. They said gear tunnel was fine but never could find what was stuck in there or where that random fallen piece came from (not acceptable on a truck I'd literally had less than a day).

NOW however, it's going back in because I can demonstrate the door problem, that will be handled. They should be taking care of alignment at that time as well.

Mine was delivered with paint damage from the transporter. Otherwise I'd rate initial quality at 9/10. Dramatically better than either of my Teslas. No rattles/squeaks, interior quality is perfect, and panels are all very good.

The physical build is perfect, albeit some of the “truck bits” are not as durable as expectations and I already have service tickets for broken things that shouldn’t be broken yet. The software on the other hand should not be shipped yet. I’m having a lot of struggles with things as basic as door lock/unlock which they made excessively complex for no good reason. Both my NFC cards and phone-app-as-key have stopped working and I’m down to only the key fob for vehicle access.
