I know there are significant variables involved and I don't have a lot if info to share about my potential claim but, I'm hoping to get some feedback from others who have been through something similar. All (serious) feedback welcome but especially hoping to hear from anyone in TX with Rivian/Nationwide insurance.
In a nutshell, I believe we're about to have to deal with some kind of sewer line problem (plumber comes tomorrow). I also have Service Line coverage on my homeowners policy. Assuming there is an issue that warrants filing a claim, should I automatically expect a major premium increase at next renewal? Or worse yet, given recent industry trends, should I expect them to refuse to renew or drop coverage?
Depending on the magnitude and nature of the problem, I may have to decide between paying out of pocket and filing a claim so wanting to understand the magnitude of the risk associated with filing a claim. A modest increase in premium is one thing but having them drop coverage would be an entirely different situation.
