Charged at a CCS ev go charger without a problem. 12 hours later stopped at a Tesla charger using the NACS adapter that had previously worked. Charging would not start. Moved to a different Tesla charger and the same thing. There were CCS chargers nearby and charger message was “initializing” but would not start charging after multiple plug and unplugging. Made it home with 25 miles left on the battery and my level 2 charger worked as always. Tried a nearby Tesla charger next day nearby but would not charge. Bringing car in for servicing later this week. Anyone experience similar issue?

I had that experience at 1 Tesla Magic Dock location but a nearby EA worked fine.

Did you try rebooting the vehicle? Hold left outer steering wheel button and hazard button (process is in the manual), that has been reported to resolve a similar issue for others on the forum.

Same thing happened to me yes at my local Tesla supercharger stations.

I had this happen once on a road trip in 2024, third stop in at a RAN charger, it wouldn't initialize with any of the stations. Called Rivian support, they restarted the stations to no avail, a full reboot of the vehicle fixed it and it has worked fine ever since.

Same thing happened to me using an A2Z adapter but I diagnosed it as a dropped pin on the NACS side. A2Z honored the one year warranty and sent me a replacement with no questions asked. I figured it was an adapter problem when I failed to charge on a level 2 Tesla charger.

Rivian service connected remotely and diagnosed a faulty cell in the battery that would prevent DC charging. Brought my 6 week old R1S in and they said it should be ready next week. They gave me an R1 as a loaner.

Thanks for your reply. Turned out a bad battery cell.

So my 6 week old R1S went into Rivian Service last week, I I picked it up today. Seems the High Voltage Distribution Box had burned out, and was replaced. Rivian says the last high speed charger that worked must have caused the problem. They were able to use. Their high speed charger after the repair. With an upcoming road trip I hope that is the last of this issue.

They diagnosed the problem remotely and had us bring the vehicle in on a Thursday, a few days after their remote diagnosis. By Tuesday it was done they apparently flew in the mechanic from elsewhere to do the repair.
