R1T Gen1 Depleted? What does this mean for 20% voucher holders

I’ve been dragging my feet as long as possible trying to decide between an R1T or an R1S for our 20% voucher. We have a Lightning and a Tesla Y so we arent in need of a replacement vehicle so I was waiting to see what would happen as we got closer to the September 30 deadline to take delivery. Well, the Rivian Store has run out of R1T inventory of Gen1 I am assuming as there are no vehicles available regardless of zip code search. So what happens next? Will they add some like the Gen2 R1S? Will they allow us to place a custom order and get 20% and not hold us to the sept 30 deadline? Are we SOL since we didn’t $hit OR get off the pot? what does everyone think?

Custom orders are long gone. They stated the vouchers are only good for what is in the shop.

Since I didn't have a voucher, I don't have anything useful to offer.

Rivian has no incentive to sell someone who has had multiple years to purchase a vehicle at a discount when they have others willing to buy that same truck at full price.

As others have indicated, custom orders disappeared quite some time ago and early reservation holders had their pre-orders converted to a discount voucher that could only be applied against offerings in the Rivian R1 Shop. I think the question you may need answered is whether there is any Shop inventory anywhere in the Rivian pipeline. You can try contacting Rivian customer service and asking. Rivian has (or at least had) "Inside Sales Guides" that should have access to everything in inventory, so you may get lucky.

Good luck, and I hope it works out for you to use your voucher. IMO, Rivian has been very generous in their treatment of early reservation holders, and I think that even if you can't convert your reservation, you will still see a refund of your deposit.

There are still quite a few Gen 1 R1Ts in the Canadian shop; including two dozen Quad Motors. I think it’s possible that some of this stock is moved to the US shop if the inventory doesn’t sell. But I’m obviously speculating. Good luck.

I ordered a 24t duel large Saturday night, got a dude on Reddit to apply friends and family, it updated in app today showing the 6k discount. This will be our second 24t, one silver, one el cap. Sales guide told me Boston has a silver 24t left but I’m not seeing any available on roamer or the store. Best option is to get in touch with Rivian sales somehow, someway.

I think at this point, with due respect, Rivian should cancel the vouchers and tell “you folks” that you had plenty of opportunity (arguably far more than reasonably fair/necesaary) and your vouchers have expired ….because you did not “sh*t or get of the pot” in a timely manner. Victims of your own indecision…

‘victim’ implies I’m somehow suffering. I am curious about what happens next and that’s why I posted. Did my post imply that I was somehow in peril if I don’t get to use the coupon (although I a sucker for a good deal and tax break)? The only anxiety is that my wife won‘t give up her Y so I can buy her the R1S and I don’t need a second truck besides my Lightning and there’s just too many extremely cool vehicles to choose from. I guess I’m also a Victim of deciding if I’ll use my CYBERTRUCK, Silverado or Rivian reservation or to spend next week at my beach house or mountain house….please consider a “go fund me” or sponsor a pity Party in my honor. I struggled enough with retiring at 55 and all that suffering that goes with that. Thank you for your kindness.
