Anyone noticing this. When driving in 40-60 mph range front drive motors are a consistent 100-105 degrees F. The rear drive motors are running 90-100 degrees but vary from left to right side between 2-7 degrees F. Truck runs ok just noticed this recently with 2022 truck. When I stop at a long light temps equalize.

Is the higher temp side in the sun?
I wish that was the issue but there is a variance in temps regardless of which way the sun is shining. I am guessing maybe a temp sensor or a driveline oil cooling system issue.

I don't see an issue. Front to back is always different. Side to side is probably the placement of the temp sensors in the cooling loop.

Sorry, it was a joke post. Those numbers are small, and front/rear temp difference is normal.

Fronts have less thermal mass than the rear motors, so they don't warm or cool the same even with all else being equal.

Temps across the motors vary within a few degrees at any given time. If running conserve, you'll notice the front motors pushing 40-80degrees C while the rears hover around 30c because they are just enjoying the free ride.

There’s also a bit of front bias even in AP, so it makes sense that the fronts run about 10F warmer.

The front motors are sized differently and do more work than the rear motors (mainly from braking) in normal driving. I have observed the same behavior and it seems normal to me.

To clarify I am not concerned about front drive train and rear drive train running different temperatures. The rear drive system being off 2-7 degrees side to side is what I have recently noticed and just find it odd while the front motors are dead on left to right.

Mine is often different - both front and back 2's. Each motor runs slightly at different temp as well as different resistance.

The thing about getting too much data is that people read into things that they would not otherwise.

If you see a significant differences after reaching nominal operating temperature, say over 10%, contact service. Also, I find that going back and forth between Conserve and other drive mode will result in varying temperature initially until steady state temperature is reach and both motors are similar, not the same, temperature.

What do we know about cars in general? FWD is more efficient for most on-pavement situations. It’s possible, even in AWD mode, the system is engineered to be front-biased to optimize efficiency [until you hammer down on the throttle]. If you aren’t getting warning notifications, i.e. systems or components operating outside of preset parameters, it’s just doing what it was made to do.

ICE or otherwise, majority of AWD SUV and CUV on the market are front-biased AWD.

Agree if I did not notice the temps I would be fine but now that I have seen them I am on that mission to find out why. Thanks.

I took this while driving this morning... looks like it's normal to me.
