One day, when it's my turn, I am debating between leasing and buying. The price isn't the issue but the capabilities.
I know Rivian has stated the R2 with Lidar will be capable of eyes-off, hands-off point to point driving. Have they stated or promised its ability beyond that?
I am pretty content with the size and look of the R2 so I don't plan to upgrade to R3X any time soon. But if there is ever going to be a time where the R2 becomes obsolete and incapable of L5 or even L4 capabilities then there's no point in buying over leasing if I want the full autonomy experience.
edit: obviously I know Rivian's promises aren't guaranteed cc Rivian Class Action Gen1 Suit
