I would say that is a very valid concern.Maybe because I am a new EV owner, but the potential for lines at charging stations does worry me for the upcoming holiday season.
Just get there ealryMaybe because I am a new EV owner, but the potential for lines at charging stations does worry me for the upcoming holiday season.
Wow, if we lower the standards then everything is fine then....It's just you Branden...
There are a few EA fanbios here that even up to today argue every time someone posts regarding broken EA equipment and insist EA's craptastic network "is fine" as long as even one of the stands is working (even at L1 charge rate) at a 12 stand facility... and even if you had to waste 45min on the phone with EA getting that one remaining EVSE working at a 10amp rate.
Here is the standard... "you made it home eventually, right?" if you answer "yes" then ..."it's fine!", and "it's really your fault anyway".
Exactly!Wow, if we lower the standards then everything is fine then....
Same I guess I have been so lucky. 100s of visits and only a couple of small issues and I see EA making an effort to improve their system. It‘s sure an easy target though for bloggers, reporters and youtubers to report every issue and drive some views. Then everyone who has ever had to wait 10 minutes for a charger to open up starts screaming and bitching and dreaming about their previous Tesla or whatever. If you don’t like EA don’t use it… lolMaybe I've just been lucky in my limited experience of 12 times at 11 different locations. I've always had a successful charge. 2 Locations had some struggle to process payment. About a quarter of locations had at least one unit out of service. Have had to wait once in Boise mostly due to 2 Teslas testing out their adaptors. The big test will be a christmas week roadtrip to SoCal.
PlugShare is your friend. Haven't had issues with the naviagation either although it doesn't seem to precondition unless nav is set to a specific charger location as final destination. Is this correct? Or does it no show preconditioning if battery is already at optimal temps.
It's not about LIKING EA... in many places is the only DC fast charger available....and many with reliability issues....which could mean being stranded.Same I guess I have been so lucky. 100s of visits and only a couple of small issues and I see EA making an effort to improve their system. Awesome, do u start the charge from your phone before plugging?Except home charging, everything else is EA charging. Why’s that? Cuz they have ev charging stations almost everywhere. And I said that after I have done my crisscross country trip (7.400+ miles) back in May. Using only EA, I found only one problem (Tallahassee Syndrome ) in FL. The label has a 350 KWh rating but delivery was,at best, 150 KWh. Called CS and let them know. Identical issue with labeling I have found in San Antonio.
On my trip I have stopped for 30+ times at EA and have only 1 issue. I highly recommend it their monthly subscription ($4) for discount while charging if you planning long distance trips.
For my part having charged at EA many many times:Awesome, do u start the charge from your phone before plugging?
