Can anyone post up any draggy data they have for their gen 2 Tri or Quad? I have had 2 gen1 LE R1Ts and I am looking to purchase an r1S soon. Performance is extremely important to me but at the same time a used Gen 1 quad is looking pretty good at 1/2 the price. Just trying really compare if the Tri or quad are significantly better in the areas that I care about. acceleration after 30MPH. Manufacturers and journalist all see so hung up on 0-60 speed using launch control. In the real world for me at least I love the feel of the pull from 30 up. The Gen 1 quad unfortunately starts to die off after 60 with the G-force dropping under .5 Gs at that point. I know the Gen 2 quad has a bit higher gearing and the in house Rivian motors has just can make torque a little higher into the RPMS but is it worth it.

Hypothetically what I would love to see would be a Gen 1 quad, gen 2 tri, and gen 2 Quad all lined up for the 1/4 mile, all on the same new ultra performance wheels and tires, Sport mode, no Launch control for any of them and see if the gen 2s are really putting down more power or if its just traction trickery.

No new G2 quad data but I posted a lot of data on a Tri. Basically the only time the new Tri is faster than a Gen 1 quad is when in launch mode. Most of that is 0-60. Above that, the Tri might be fractionally quicker than the quad. The best Tri run I had was better than the best G1 quad run I had. Filtering those out, a G1 quad, could take a G2 tri. It isn't an automatic win for the G2 Tri.

In AP mode, the G1 quad typically was quicker to 60 than a G2 Tri. Sport they were very clode and launch mode ensured that no matter what, the G2 Tri would beat a G1 quad every time 0-60.

On 50-80 mph runs, the G2 Tri was just a hair quicker based on multiple runs but in my testing it had a higher SoC than what I narmally test my truck with AND the larger pack would be an advantage. So would I sell my G1 quad and buy a G2 Tri for the limited performance gain? Hell no. It wasn't enough to matter for me even when there was an advantage. Give launch mode to a G1 quad and it would be a very interesting match up.

No seat time in a G2 quad so I can't compare. Based on the times I've seen though, it would be like running my S Plaid in sport mode other than a bit quicker off the line than my S. The trap speeds are pretty similar. In that case, there is a noticeable difference in the higher speed acceleration.

Buy the G2 quad, skip the G2 Tri, or save your money and go with the G1 quad. For now, I am hanging on to my G1 quad and I am a major performance junkie. Not to mention I saw a run where G1 quad and G2 quad ran but they forget to put the G2 in launch mode. G1 ran it hard up to 60. I don't want to have to engage launch mode every time to get max performance.
