Mine picked up 2 hood dents from quarter sized hail in Oklahoma yesterday. That sheet metal is thin.No way in hell those things will do anything for hail large enough to actually do damage.

Not sure why there is an lol here ? They are rated to 80psi just like my Coopers (pictured). Nittos in OP truck look excellent!60 psi….lol
Typically you don't see damage until you have 1" hail...which is basically the diameter of a quarter, so no unexpected.Mine picked up 2 hood dents from quarter sized hail in Oklahoma yesterday. That sheet metal is thin.
My f150 was considerably more resilient. But this far hail resistance is the only thing at which it was superior. Other than the range of course.Typically you don't see damage until you have 1" hail...which is basically the diameter of a quarter, so no unexpected.
Got some new tires on my ATs today. Nitto Recon Grappler LT 275/65/R20. Currently running them at 60psi.
To get the obvious questions out of the way. They do have a bit more road noise but I was running the 21s before this but I think they are louder than the Pirelli ATs. No idea on the efficiency loss yet.
Some eye candy for the masses taken in a hail storm with high Suspension
That's odd, did you get the OEM 275/65/R20. Other than tread depth they are identically sized at least according to literature. Are you talking about sport mode in lowest suspension? I've heard of that happening to peeps on the OEM Pirellis but never happened to me (with the exception of when my suspension was broken)
I got the same tires with aftermarket Raceline 20” rims and sold my 21” with old perellis on eBay 1200$ im happy with new tire set up but in sports mode they do rub tire well when hitting bumps
Thanks my tire size is- LT 275/60R20That's odd, did you get the OEM 275/65/R20. Other than tread depth they are identically sized at least according to literature. Looking sharp though, I like those rims.
Have you heard about anyone who currently runs studded 20" tires? I just got my R1T three weeks ago and already realize the Scorpions won't do for next winter in Montana. My plan is to run them for the summer and then switch to studded Cooper Discoverer Snow Claws, which have been a successful choice on my 2008 Tundra and my 2003 Land Cruiser. Any thoughts on your studded tire choice?Yeah thinking studded for winter. No issues with ride quality, I’m running 60 due to the extra weight of my setup.
I can't say I recall a specific report of 20" studded on a Rivian but I'm sure it's been done, I know Out of Spec Kyle was running 22" studded Nokian's on his R1T.Have you heard about anyone who currently runs studded 20" tires? Which Raceline rims are those? They look great!

No complaints really. If I were to buy again I might try the Toyo Open Country AT3 due to more sipping, for a summer tire these have performed quite well in mud and rough roads. I did get stuck in some sand a few weeks ago but I don't think different tires would have helped that much. How are you liking the Recon Grapplers?
I see they now come in a 275/65R20 116T rating. Not LT but only 47 lbs and still have 55,000 mile warranty.
Only weirdness is they’re only rated to 44psi, but the load rating at that PSI is the same as the OEM Pirellis.
