Rivian App Stuck on Home Location

I was at Home Depot recently [10 mins from home] and the doors would not lock automatically. I was out of bluetooth range I believe so it should have been triggered. When I went to the app to manually lock the truck, it showed my location as at home. How do I fix this? Is it a browser issue?

Delete and re-add your home location.

And do a soft reset. My R1S kept displaying the garage door UI when I was at Home Depot. I thought the truck was trying to tell me something.

sounds like the GPS in the truck hung. Infotainment reset (soft reset). Far left and far right steering wheel buttons at the same time until it reboots. Should hopefully fix it.

I have this same problem. Started with the last software update. Soft reset did nothing. Anyone figure this out yet?

I’ve been having this same issue with my proximity locking. I have mine set to Proximity Locking On and Off at Home. For some reason it sometimes won’t work when I am away from home. For the first 11 months of ownership, I never had a problem with Proximity Locking. Now, this has become very annoying that I can’t count on it.

- When this first started happening, I noticed that the map option on the driver’s display was not available, when this issue occurred.
- I also noticed that the phone app, under the Location section, was showing I was at home when I wasn’t.
- Then, I opened the Map app on the main display and, whoa, got a blank, black screen!

So, it appears that the Map app/GPS is crapping out. I had performed a soft and system reset the previous day (related to another issue), but it had not corrected the proximity locking problem. As a test, while away from home, I performed a soft reset, while I had the Map app (black screen) selected on the main display. When the system rebooted, the Map display reappeared on the main display. Also, the small map on the driver’s display reappeared. As well, my phone app showed that I was away from home. I walked away from the car and the proximity locking worked. Whew! Fixed that, or not.

Unfortunately, a day or so later, I had it fail to work when I was at the store. I got back in the car and fiddled a bit and the Map displayed reappeared and Proximity Locking began working again. Who knows what it will do today? In order to give myself a heads up that proximity will not be working, I have selected the map option on the driver’s display. As long as I can see that map, I know the proximity locking should be working. Until this gets resolved, once and for all, I will just have to train myself to check for that map before I exit the car. The next time it happens, I will take a system snapshot and forward it to Rivian. Maybe they can remotely fix this issue.

Just saw there is a new software update out. Maybe this mapping/proximity issue will be addressed ?

Anyone has a fix for this? I even did a hard reset and still stuck at home location. So my motion cam is also disabled because it thinks I’m at home
