This is great news. I don't want them to "rush" R2, but at the same time, see so many posts on social media from Tesla owners looking for something else, now would be a really great time to have that vehicle available. ?
If not for fear of political retribution, it would be an absolutely genius marketing campaign to offer short-term incentives to trade in a Tesla for an R2

That car over his shoulder looks like an R1S to me. With dark out pack.

I'm interested where they are sourcing their parts from. It's great to have 95% secured but I'm really hoping they'll be sourced within the USA to keep prices down given the uncertainty around trade right now.

Waiting for the R2!! Hopefully it stays under 75k at the higher end (assuming it would be for the max battery).

Timing, if going by these estimates, would be perfect as my R1S lease would be ending Q1 2027. Fingers crossed.

Of course, if they come up with a R1S model with captain's charis, would switch to that in a heartbeat! (... a guy can dream... )

Rivian collects data from customer fleets to refine AI models.
Translation: video recordings of you, your home, your garage interior, and your children is regularly uploaded and stored by Rivian for their systems and employees to access at will…

Even with tariffs it might not be cheaper with USA parts. More certain yes, cheaper maybe not.

I signed up for both R2 and Scout suv. Lets see which one actually hits the market on time. I love the fact Scout will have Rivian Infotainment/tech. I may forgo R2 for the Scout if they really are 1yr apart on release.

I know it is all positivity flavored marketing but it still seems like Rivian is more adult looking electric car company at the moment. Between the joint ventures and commercial van, and other affordable units coming soon, it feels like adults and professionals are running this company. Hopefully we see more improvements on the charging front.
Unfortunately stock price doesn't show that but it could also be more opportunities buy some more. As someone who had been wanting to exit the stock, makes me reconsider it.

Lucid is fairly mature, just at a smaller scale (sedans, their primary product until recently, are simply not what the majority of the market has appetite for). And one should never assume correlation between share price and company health. Look at TSLA, since Model 3 and Y ramped, consistently overvalued based in sentiment and is now facing a correction—when the downsides are now too much to ignore/deny.
